Unlike the last time that they went down, this time I think that they will be down for a while. At the same time, we are looking more likely to consolidate as a mid-table side. Consequently, the skunks are likely to be an irrelevance to us (barring any cup games between the sides) for some time to come. If agent Ashley completes his job then eventually they may rank alongside Hartlepool as our local rivals.
They are going mad for Rafa to stay as manager, but the fact is that he has had no experience of our second tier of football and may find himself totally lost down there...It is a bloody tough league with more games to play..
How would it look on his CV if he was failing in the championship? I think he will bail out. I cannot imagine he will be short of offers.
