please log in to view this image A real shame about the d!ckhead wearing that KKK style get up being amongst QPR! Marching to our historic day at Wembley 1967
Yeah I've seen this question before. From WATRB. "March 4 1967. Before the League Cup Final a bunch of QPR fans marched from LR to Wembley carrying a makeshift coffin (visible in the picture). The guys in suits were undertakers and the chap in the white looks like a KKK but is in fact supposed to be a ghost. If I remember rightly, it was supposed to represent the 'death of WBA' in the final. The coffin had WBA daubed on the side. I wasn't on the march but read it about it later. I was at the game." http://www.wearetherangersboys.com/forum/showthread.php?137937-Can-someone-explain-this-picture Edited to include the picture as link isn't working for me upthread. Assuming this is the one UTR's?
Cheers Telford, I take back my d!ck head rant. Cheers for clearing that up! I was hoping there was a it's not racism explination to that pic
Also wish I was there but not born until 75. How many QPR were at the final? Must have been electric the atmosphere that day!

Sure I saw either Sooper or Stroller mention on the music thread that they were at the Hyde Park gig.....
Yes, I was there. Me and a mate got there really early and a got a place quite near the front, but couldn't see it out so ended up way back.
Had to look it up, but wiki has it at between 250 and 500k. I don't remember it as being particularly loud. We spent some time behind the stage while Alexis Korner was on and the sound was better there than being in front but a long way off.
Wow, nearly half a million! And no crowd control, that's impressive! I guess the crowd behaved itself due to it being the summer of love, also lots of funny smelling roll up's probably being passed around I would imagine .
They're superb aren't they and some good links too. The stories are fascinating and I can easily lose hours disappearing down wiki-holes chasing stuff like this. I love the old colour/colourised ones There's a sub reddit dedicated to colourising old often familiar pictures and their work is exceptional. From the everyday... Pier Atlantic City 1904 To the stunning... Ice Grotto Antarctica 1911 To the historic... A sketch artist at Gettysburg 1863.
There's even a colour version of John Major on his triumphant return from Maastricht. Spoiler: How do like your eggs in the morning John? please log in to view this image
