If B/mouth can beat Utd, we have a massive chance of finishing 5th! Fighting for 5th on the last day two seasons running, that's pretty impressive.

My only quibble with that was when we were both in Division Two, but you're right, they finished above us. Checked on Statto.

EDIT: Had another look. In the two seasons we were together in Div 2 [60-61, 61-62] we beat them 3 times out of 4. In 60-61 we beat them 4-1 [H] and 1-0 [A] and in 61-62 the results were 0-2 [A] and 2-0 [H]. They won the division that year and were promoted. We were 6th that season and had to wait for our promotion just before World Cup '66 took place. That's where I considered myself old enough [7 years] and enthusiastic enough to become a Saints supporter and get off down to The Dell.

Excuse me for the ramble down memory lane. ;)

There is a top notch pub called the ridgeway for food. If you fancy a curry, there is a lovely Indian called Vanilla Spice that I use whenever I need a takeaway. However, if you want a real treat and can travel a bit, there is a new bbq restaurant that has opened in Barry (about 45 minute drive from the 'port) called The Hangfire Smokehouse...rest assured you will not be disappointed as it will be the best bbq food you will ever eat. It is very popular, so I'd recommend booking, but they do keep tables for walk-ins too if you wanted to take a chance.

And Saundersfoot is one of my most favourite places on earth, lots of happy childhood memories and quite a few adult ones as well :)

Yeah, very nice place. Doesn't have my childhood heart like the north coast of Cornwall, but I have to admit that Pembrokeshire is a beautiful place, probably because it is so siimilar.

Pendine (Carmarthenshire, not Pembs) was my childhood beach, only 4 miles from home, long, sandy beaches - about 7 miles - and lots of land speed records broken there to this day. You just have to watch for the unexploded bombs and mines as the MOD own a huge part of it :D

Pendine Sands. That's a heck of a beach for a kid to have on her doorstep. :)

Yeah, stepping on a mine would put a dampener on your holiday.

Did any of you find the new pair of shoes I lost on Pendine sands? It was about 40 years ago though. Back to the footie, I only got to one match at St Marys this season, oddly it was against the new champions! Hoping for a comfortable win on Sunday so my nerves wont suffer too much when both Bournemouth and Stoke are ahead in their games.

I think I might have found that last week. Must have been carried on the wind to North London.

South Cornwall has my childhood heart; Marazion beach - my favourite place in the world. Laid Mum's ashes there too.

I lost a wedding ring in the water at Studland Bay. Platinum :(

No Fran, not a problem for the replacement one these days with the Fat Fingers :emoticon-0143-smirk

Brain's is good, prefer a smooth myself though.

To be honest I've not been out in Newport town center. Would have plenty of recommendations for Cardiff but have only been warned off going out in Newport :)

In my uni days I went out in my England rugby shirt wrapped in a flag for the six nations. Not done that in a while, possibly because it's only 2-3 of us that go out these days so no longer have strength in numbers :)

My late mother-in-law hailed from Laugharne, and my wife regularly talks about her happy holidays at Pendine.
Mum-in-law used to say that Dylan Thomas was a bit of a "strange" one, even saying she found him quite frightening, on the occasions that their paths crossed.
