I popped that OWS article into Google Translate and it came back with "ticket sales for the home leg are a disaster".
They're actually not that bad, though getting anywhere near a sell-out is going to be dependent on what we do on Saturday.
****ing ridiculous... North Ferriby United@northferribyutd Following meetings with the police we regret to announce we are unable to sell alcohol at the clubhouse for the playoff final.
Win/draw at weekend should drive up the home attendance. Sheff Wednesday and Brighton are charging similar ticket prices for each other as we and Derby are.
A couple of easy trivia questions on the 2nd tier to 1st tier playoffs. 1. which team were in the playoff final but got relegated? 2. which team won the playoff final but weren't promoted?
I think the latter was Swindon, who were denied promotion due to their dodgy dealings, but the first one's a good one.
Didn't the first few Play offs also involve one team from the league above (i.e. just escaping the relegation zone)? I guess if i remember correctly then it would be one of these first few who was in the final and also got relegated. As for who it might have been, i wouldn't have a clue without going searching and thats cheating
That is correct. The first 2 years of playoffs involved the team 4th from bottom of Div 1 and the teams that finished 3rd to 5th in Div 2. But who was it?
Yep, Swindon Town beat Sunderland in the final. Swindon were then denied promotion because of financial irregularities. Initially they were relegated to Div 3, with Tranmere being promoted. But later that was reversed and Swindon reinstated in 4th place.
Anyone know of any tickets available for Saturday? I've got a mate who's been let down, he's looking for a pair. Ta.
Good questions. I've seen one answered above but I've got no idea about the other without Googling it. I'll wait for the answer.
The answer was Chelsea. In the first 2 years of the playoff, the team finishing 4th from bottom of D1 was in the playoffs with the teams finishing 3rd-5th. In the 1st year Charlton stayed up that way, beating Leeds. They were level 1-1 after a 2-leg final, and needed a replay. In the 2nd year Chelsea lost to Middlesbrough and were therefore relegated.
Our look ahead to the Play-Offs if people are interested. Note that we do touch on the protests and try to respect the fact that they don't directly affect us in our discussion of them. While we do agree that they should desist after the Derby Away leg (incidentally recorded before the HCST announcement) we agree that we would understand if it continued.
He'd like it if it's still available TOM? If it I, can you please PM me some contact details, so I can pass them on and let them sort it themselves?
