NUFC.com are adding to these faint hopes. They are reporting that Charnley and Benitez have been seen in a meeting together today, discussing the possibility of Rafa continuing on with us next season. As they point out, it appears to be positive that NUFC are wanting to keep his services and more so in that Benitez is willing to open discussions and entertain the idea.

 

I known Sunderland have cemented their place in the Prem but if he wants to slate us for going down then he'll have to provide something more concrete than that.

I have every confidence that our high rolling CEO, Mr. Lee Charnley will call on his vast wealth of footballing knowledge and experience whilst convincing Rafa to stay............................... and completely **** it up.

What odds a back page story in the Sun on Sunday in a few weeks time about how Rafa wanted to stay but NUFC tried to renegotiate contract now that we are down and also told him that 'The Structure' and Carr would remain!!

 

I smell nothing more than a PR stunt.

We will have an email when Rafa leaves saying he was 'almost over tge line' thanks to the superior negotiation skills of lifelong toon fan Charnley.
