... there may be absolutely nothing in it ... but signing a new contract in reality means little more than an increase in the compensation entitlement figure ... personally I hope he stays with Spurs and honours said new contract ...
... could be ... ... however, an alternaive view might be that this way he feels less guilt (perhaps even homourable) than simply walking away ... because now Spurs at least do OK financially from it ... and, in turn, can now afford to compensate Leeds for poaching Steve Evans ... that kind of thing ... I suspect even the most blinkered of Spurs fans must have been somewhat unsettled by those photographs ... what the hell did Poch think would be made of it?
Poch could have phoned to say no, so why meet in person, and run the risk of being spotted together, unless that is what he wanted ! SAF has no reason to meet Poch other than discuss United job
I'd disagree that he has no other reason, they are well known admirers of one another. And reportedly, the club knew of the meeting beforehand. Similarly, if they wanted to avoid the risk of being spotted, why choose such a public setting?
Ha! ... because his phone might of been tapped! ... know all ... there was always a chance that they wouldn't be spotted at Scotts Of Mayfair (or that's what SAF told Poch at least)...
... so are Stan and Bluey ... but ask yourself ... have they met? ... I'll leave it there ... draw your own conclusion.
I think it's unrequited in their case, Bluey has offered to meet Stan several times. But Stan, being coy, has so far refused.
Let's be honest here, the Utd job is the biggest job in the premier league and Pooch is an ambitious manager, he'll use Spurs as a springboard to a big club like Utd, and here's why : LVG will be at Utd next year as it's the last year of his contract. After that Utd will be looking for a new manager. SAF was probably tapping pooch up for the season after next. Levy has got a deal and compensation when pooch goes and Pooch gets another year with Spurs to try and win something and play in the CL. Everybody is happy, apart from Spurs fans, but they are used to seeing managers come and go, so Levy won't really give a **** about that.
Surely united will be after the Southampton manager as he is the better manager...or has your view on that changed along with your view on Kane being a one season wonder ?
