It seems were 'all singing from the same hymn sheet' in respect of players to let go and positions we need to recruit.
As has been said, I'd love to see Klose stay and get the captain's armband, a new CB, a new RB (Pinto can replace Redmond on the wing), Toffolo as back up to Olsson and another striker to supplement Jerome and Morris.
I'm sure at least one of the Murphy twins could make the step up and we have Maddison to replace the ageing Wes!! <ok>

Edit - I'd quite like to see significant changes in the board members as well, or at least someone with sound footballing knowledge!!

Josh Murphy scored 5 and assisted 9 over the Championship season for MK Dons. No doubt he deserves a chance. No disrespect to MK Dons but Josh could do even better playing off Wes.

Would still like to see us go after Bruno, the Gabonese lad at Cardiff. Hands down one of the best centre halves in the division and could potentially make the step up should we.

Like Rick I'm not sure the midfield is the first priority, but equally you take quality where you can get it. Judge got those stats in 3/4 of the season too, until he broke his leg and was ruled out. Out with a long term injury and with a year on his contract, he might well be available at a reasonable price I guess.

On the other hand, he does seem to play a CAM role predominantly. With Wes, Maddison and Vadis, plus Howson if needed, we aren't short of players for that role. A deeper lying play-maker, as has been alluded to elsewhere, would be a more interesting signing, someone to improve on O'Neil.

We've also been linked with Lewis Dunk at Brighton, but that may just been following up a rumour from some time back. In any case, it depends on what Brighton do in the play-offs.

Set-piece taker too. I would be excited if we went for him. Highly doubt we would.

Slowly formulating my dream targets. I think I'd love:

Judge as a creative set-piece taking midfielder.
Dembele as a pacey striker who can really finish.

I know Spurs were in for Dembele and failed in Jan, but look at Maddison. Spurs and Pool failed and we got him. Go again!

I really can't think of any CBs. That position is very hard. There's a few young CBs in the Championship I like, but they are either inconsistent, going up, or pick up yellows and reds very regularly. For instance, off the top of my head:

Duffy - Blackburn - I think he is solid and decent.
Hanley - Blackburn - very good, but too easily sent off.
Maguire - Hull - Great potential, a little inconsistent, Hull might get promotion.
Dunk - Brighton - Might get promoted
    Tarkowski - Burnley - Promoted

Should have gone for Tarkowski in January - he would have been immense with Klose at his side <steam>

You could have included Naismith and Andreu as well DH! Like Wes and Naismith, however, Judge can also play out wide. Wouldn't a deeper lying play-maker be competing with Howson really?

Anyone fathomed out yet why we bought Andreu - and simultaneously scuppered Hamilton's chance of a half-decent season? :emoticon-0112-wonde
Interesting times ahead - but as NCFC fans, we can say that virtually every season! <ok> <laugh>

3 teams rumoured to want Redmond, although I would like him to stay I'd take 10 million for him as we have the Murphy twins who I think could potentially replace him and also that new signing from Coventry.

Both fair points! I can't see Andreu being close to the first team though, and Naismith may well leave.

I think I was mentally trying to fit O'Neil, Tettey and Howson into a central midfield two. I guess I need to learn to count again! In terms of having squad options though, I'd much rather we had those three plus a new signing, and wave Dorrans and Mulumbu off.

Really would have been. When we were linked, I was very excited. As usual, the rumors faded to nothing. Imagine Afobe added to that.

Dorrans was quite effective in the Championship as I recall. I'd have thought that Mulumbu could do a job there as well. Depends on how AN sees it really.

I have seen a comment from Tetty saying he may not be with us next season. Not sure when he is supposed to have said this, or to who. Oh for an Ian Crook to emerge from the mist.

Yes, it is a ridiculous state of affairs to allow to happen and someone is going to get a bargain. Of those supposedly interested, I'd like him to go to Saints!!
