Tough ask to come straight back up and even tougher with fat Ash calling the shots...there are far to many big sides in the championship now since your last relgation all staking a claim......It's the best division to play and watch football in but the money you have lost is mind blowing getting relegated..Fair play to Sunderland they showed guts and wanted to stay up...
I think that is largely a myth. Are the rules of football different in the Championship and referees allow some sort of blood sport on the pitch? Of course not. What is important is a solid work ethic and a bit of quality. I think we'll probably have the latter but the former is debatable. If you have pacy players in attack I think most teams will find it hard to defend against you. I was utterly shocked at how poor the standard was the last time we were in the Championship.
That is the only real worry I have tbh. It may be that we have to try and come up through the playoffs.
I agree that you don't have to be a hoofball, rough and ready team to succeed in the Championship. The Swans went up playing some fabulous stuff - and often got lumps kicked out of us. You did well last time because, for whatever reason, you kept an underperforming but very decent squad together. If you can keep them, players like Townsend, Shelvey and Mitrovic will excel imo.
While relegation is never a good thing, there can be positives from it. Their egos might not agree, but I think quite a few of our players would benefit from a year in the championship. Can't take for granted that it will only be a year though. It will be a tough league to get out of.
Unfortunately this is so close to the truth it is scary. How can a man full of so much incompetence and ineptitude hold such a senior position........................... ah yes, I forgot, he's cheap. Well it doesn't seem like such a shrewd business appointment now, does it Ashley you ****ing greedy fat bastard. Theres a 100 million quid hole in your pocket that Penfolds 100 grand salary aint gonna fill. Quite how these people get on oi life is completely baffling.
Not a fan of Ashley but to be fair he did make a big attempt to put it right in the Jan transfers , whoever chose how to spend it must shoulder a lot of the blame
Charnley fcked this up. Obviously Ashley is ultimately culpable, but I think he had large parts of wool pulled over his eyes. Wait, let me revise that - if Ashley allows Charnley to carry on then it's Ashley's fault. It shows they're in it together. If he sacks him then I think he gets the benefit of doubt and the blame sits solely with Charnley for getting relegated. Ashley is more responsible for making the club such a joke in the first place.
I feel for the Newcastle fans. Mike Ashley is a monumental **** who shouldn't be allowed to run a football club. He's clearly a very good businessman but the decisions he's made since he took over at Newcastle have been spectacularly ****e.
