Anyone heading down to this? I know there's a fair few posters on here from around the Durham area so it's not too far to travel and Newcastle have confirmed that:

    Wayne Routledge
    Nile Ranger
    Xisco
    Sammy Ameobi
    Phil Airey

and perhaps Perch will be playing some part in the match. £3 entry to all, not a bad price for those desperate to see a bit of footy with a few first team hopefuls.

Will be doing a match review afterwards for those that don't go.

Ah unlucky man, Perch and Xisco probably aren't the most tempting prospects anyway!

Pfft. There's a REAL North East derby on tomorrow. Blyth Spartans v Ashington. <ok>

Would be inclined to go if it didn't clash and could get to Blyth a bit easier.

Since attendances have been down lately it'd be nice to see a friendly get around 500 at Croft Park. Club's in trouble if we can't pick up some new fans! <yikes>

How many you reckon for Ashington match? I heard they played Hartlepool and Man U Reserves within the last month, can't have been bad for the club.

IMO if they had better transport links near the ground it would be more popular, but I think it's quite difficult to get to generally.

    <yikes> Man Utd?!

I agree about Woodhorn Lane being a bit tricky to get to but despite that they still get fantastic support for their level.

This is only Blyth's second saturday home friendly, think they really missed a trick what with our pre-season starting so early. 600 for Partick then only about half that for the following three friendlies. Had they been played on Saturdays (and I can't see why not) that'd had been about an extra £2k for the club.

Hartlepool on a Wednesday was a waste of an opportunity. <doh>

Thats what I heard, supposedly last sunday (unless this was an old fixture list I read and it was 24th july 2010).

Yeah would've definitely gone had it been a weekend, want to see Nobby play again.

Ah I get what you mean now. Man Utd Reserves beat Spartans 7-1, Spartans being the Edinburgh-based Scottish non-league club. Attendance was about 3,000 which is fantastic, nice little ground and they're one of a few clubs who are ready to join the Scottish Third Division if needed.

Something rather annoying, I had a shift changed without my say for the 6th, going to try and get it changed back. <grr>
