Everyone knows it was a fluke. Someone even explained why and how it was a fluke. He used an incorrect definition of the word fluke but that's not important right now.
As flukey as the spammers turning you over,(again) though to be fair, your boys were clearly rattled, judging by Lingard's video ! Although it was ****ing disgraceful !
Bookies don't play the game , they just take 90% of people's money 90% of the time on bad odds . They obviously didn't do their homework watching Leicester win 7 of their last 9 games from the previous season to set those odds .
Yes, exactly. The bookies would mostly love Leicester winning the title. Yes, they were enormous odds being offered, and there'll be some big payouts too. But in return they make a ****load of money from all the people who bet on the usual suspects. But, I don't think we'll be seeing 5000/1 being offered again anytime soon! Plus, of course, they make a fortune from all the Mousers who always believe that the coming year is gonna be their year.. !
It's actually been the worst sporting event for bookies EVER (according to paddy power) Think about it. They were still offering massive odds at the turn of the year.
Yes, well, I think to quote Mandy Rice-Davies, 'they would say that' I really can't believe that they haven't made more money from the hundreds of thousands of lost bets on the usual suspects than they've lost on a relatively few bets on Leicester. Maybe Paddy Power has lost a tad, but I think the betting industry as a whole has made money.
That would be the case if the odds reflected the table since Christmas. They didn't that's why it's the biggest betting **** up ever. In January you could still get about 25/1 - that's madness. Think about it. A top 6 team is around 9/1 at the START of the season. Leicester were top with a few months left and you could get 25/1. The bookies made a massive error with the starting price. Biggest fail in betting history
Advertising money is all they lost on Leicester , more people will bet because of what happened . It's to big a money making business to be affected by massive losses here and there .
Hindsight is always 20/20. But, to be fair, even in Jan how many of us thought that Leicester could maintain their challenge? Anybody and everybody, who wasn't a Leicester fan, thought they'd fade.
Precisely the reason you'll NEVER see 5000-1 again. It was never going to shorten in time. Epic fail from the bookies
Far too many variables regarding the Sky money. As I've said earlier money isnt a problem or an advantage, it only depends on how you spend it. Secondly there are only so many really good players out there and most will look at the name above the door as much as they will the wages. Finally welcome to the world of rich clubs, and the barrel you'll be bent over every time you show interest in any player. Once you have money dont be surprised if clubs rinse you for £30m for the likes of Benteke or Depay. At the end of the day, the clubs with the best scouting systems, best managers and the most pulling power that will succeed.
TBF, I was amazed when I heard the odds being offered on Leicester. As you say, won't happen again!..
