We look ok for goalkeepers now with Gullacsi and Basso competing for the shirt. The defence is looking strong with Chester, Hobbs, Dudgeon and Rosenior backed up by Dawson and McShane in his current form (but I would still like to see Ayala and maybe back-up for Rosenior.) The midfield looks better and better with Brady, Koren, McKenna, Cairney and Evans all looking good and soon to be joined by Stewart when fit (and possibly Olofinjana.)This Pusic guy also looks promising from the little we have seen of him. The forward line is the only area I think could be improved. Fryatt is quality but the others all have limitations. For Simpson itâs lack of consistency (hope he improves this season), for McLean itâs the end product and for Adebola itâs his lack of pace. I would be well pleased if we could get another dangerous striker in who knows where the net is and puts real fear into opposition defenders.
I'm worried about what would happen if we lost Fryatt for any length of time, but I don't see us bringing in another striker.
I do think we need more. A loanee or a permanent. When Leicester have finished destroying last season's team NP might go back for tried and tested, he seems to like doing that.... Waghorn? Midfielder Wellens perhaps?
Are we still lacking one good striker? I genuinely think no one would lose sleep if Mclean, Simpson or Adebola left tomorrow. Simpson may come good, i hope so, but i would buy 3 new ones if we could.
I dont think we are any more. We're just gonna offer the cash straight up. I think we could loan you Waggy for the season if you could promise him game time. He'll be a premier league player one day he just needs a run in a side and he'll score 15-20 goals a season ,ok> As for Wellens, you can jog on mate!
It's in Leicester's local rag...... http://www.thisisleicestershire.co....lure-striker/story-13017734-detail/story.html
How does Wellens fit in with Johnson, Danns, King, Fernandes, Hargreaves if you get him. We'll look after him!
Yeah it was. SSN mentioned it when Leicester failed with their third bid and reports were saying they were lining up for a fourth with Waghorn as a make weight.
It's a website that gets its info from FoxesTalk. One guy thats a bit of an insider said he thinks Waggy will be used as bait but since he has said that its not the case. Sven rates Waggy but he'll need a run in a team before he will realise his cracking potential
He either changes his name to Andy Saviles Crown jewells and we welcome him as one of us or we fuk him off OLM. He's like Herpes he just wont go.
Well Wellens, King and Johnson play and the others sit on the bench I imagine he'll be rotated with Gelson, Kingy with Danns and Johnson with Abe We won't get Hargreaves will we? How many news stories have been released where Sven has said he is welcome to join. Owen clearly has no interest in dropping a league. IMO beggars can't be choosers
Wellens wont leave but Waghorn might. He would cost around 1.5M, doubt we would loan him to you but you never know. Fryatt will go through patches over the season. Some weeks he will bury every chance he gets and then for about 5 games he wont be able to hit a cows backside.
Waghorn is interesting. NP signed him at LCFC on loan, came here and I think we tried signing him, or were certainly linked with him, before you eventually signed hin on a perm. I'd be surprised if he wasn't on the radar.
I can see Jay Simpson making an impact this season and joining Matty amongst the goals. We're fine for strikers just for now, we can always reassess this situation in January if need be.
I think we only have one decent striker atm, the rest are too hit and miss. However we have a midfield that can score goals.
I think we have one striker who has potential to play in the premier league and 3 that are perfectly acceptable and will score in the championship!
Cameron Stewart seemed very capable up front when asked to do the duty and would seem quite a viable back up should the worse happen to Fryatt. But i'll still be hoping it doesn't come to that and Simpson and Maclean start banging them in with regularity now they've had a season to settle into the first team
