What about "The Pundits' Graveyard"? I wonder if next season's claims by Savage, Merson et al, of being 'In the know', and having a finger on the prediction pulse will be rather more measured? As a half-hearted attempt to keep this on topic, I confidently forecast a result for Saints (as in "They'll get a result at home" - we all know that, but what will it be?) My prediction: 3-0 - a Virgil hat trick - Left, Right, overhead Rabona
Well, I'll be there Sunday - I expect you lot will all be well pickled by then if you've been on the shandies since Saturday .........
I am more nervous about this one than the one just played. Last Sunday, Saints were just not nervous but as Saints are expected to win this one, Saints could well be a little bit edgy. We'll see. Saints are obviously a much better footballing team than Palace but as we know Palace have some very good individuals who sometimes sparkle like Boalsie. Keep a tight grip on these guys and I am sure Saints will win. 3-1!!
Remember Coventry! I couldn't believe that day. OK boys, here's the scenario. Beat the worst team in the league and you'll get promoted. Cue shredded nerves! Not quite the same scenario, but come on. Palace are OK. They'll be thinking about the Cup Final. Yes Pards would love to win, but he'll want the Cup more. Punch will be in the toilet, so no worries. 4-0 again!
And Barcelona in the Copa del Rey because if Sevilla lose to Liverpool but beat Barca it could rob one of Celta or Athletic of their hard earned EL place.
Not only do we need to beat Palace, we also need to soften them up for Utd & make sure their confidence is knocked. Utd need to win that damn trophy.
After United's abject loss yesterday (does no one think about us!), it will be very hard to support United in the Cup, but I will if necessary. Let's hope it still matters to us. Come on Chelsea! We have another evening of suffering ahead of us.
Felt sad seeing Morgan looking so ineffectual last night. He will not have a good season next if LVG stays.
We could always arrange a few mindless thugs to smash up the Palace coach on the way in, it might unsettle them enough for us to beat them? rhetorical of course!
And the Chapel End could thrown balls of wool onto the pitch (only if they can spare them of course....they're not made of money).
No needles allowed in the ground I believe, although macrame may be allowed. The rattle of their jewellery and clatter of dentures should be enough.
