Taken from the Athletic Bilbao website and the possible conundrums EUROPEAN POSSIBLE CIRCUMSTANCES Athletic Club has consulted the possible circumstances for our european participation next campaign 2016/2017. The 5th position would ensure Athletic Club playing the UEL competition from the Group Stages. Circumstance 1. Sevilla FC wins the Cup and is defeated in the UEL final. The 5th would play the Group Stague and 6th y the Q3. Circumstance 2. Sevilla FC is defeated both in the Cup and UEL. The 5th and 6th would play the Group Stages and Sevilla FC would play Q3. Circumstance 3. Sevilla FC wins the Cup and UEL. The 5th would play the Group Stages and the 6th Q3. Circumstance 4. Sevilla FC is defeated in the Cup and wins UEL. The 5th and 6th would play the Group Stages. Seems to me the best for Athletic is to finish 5th, or circumstances 2 and 4 Project this with regard to Liverpool winning the UEL. 5th (United or City and 6th/7th (Saints or WHU) get the two group placings. If Liverpool lose but end up above Saints then it is zilch.
I would love to take credit for it. So I will. Any earlier versions you see kicking about on Twitter were clearly stolen from my future work
http://www.espn.co.uk/football/blog...ntroduced-as-part-of-revision-of-handball-law Idea mooted of automatic goal awarded for handball that directly prevent a goal. Not so sure....you hardly get handball now...the ref would have to be 110% certain before he'd award an automatic goal. And I like penalties, though some would argue that this could be fairer in a blatant case....but how many of those do you see in a season?

Yep. Truth is, that tragedy tends to get a little forgotten, after Heysel and Hillborough. Dreadful day that. I have never seen footage of a fire spreading so quickly, and carnage and pain it caused was awful.
Yes, there was a detailed programme about it, covering the events, talking to the survivors, and looking into the negligence that caused it, in the last couple of years. Really tragic.
I saw a program around the time of last years anniversary. Watched it online and I think by Yorkshire television. Awful, awful footage.... that man on fire
