Mr Angry rises! Neither of them carry any weight. At all. Absolutely none. So I suppose in that respect they carry equal weight because 0=0. Bizarre thing to comment on though. Unless you're seriously suggesting that 0.1% of a population carries weight? In which case... well I'm not sure what to say as that's just weird.
What fact are you stating exactly that I'm ignoring? That both are meaninglessly small samples and therefore carry no weight??

    MR ANGRY turns to insults!

If only that was something I was worried about. A you actually concerned with how you come across on a forum? How do you think you come across yourself if you are concerned?

I barely ever conversed with A87 on here. He posted like a numpty and had the same anger problems you do. The entire forum activity has dropped off. There's little to discuss as our season ended weeks ago. The only amusement left is observing Wenger outies vs Wenger defenders... or just angry people.
No reply to that. It appears you really have an anger problem with people who don't share your opinions though.

    You said in post #56
"Good to see that you voted to make it 41% for Wenger to stay. Last day left so carry on canvassing and hopefully you can overturn the result <ok>"

At least try to be honest now that you have been caught out.

    Thanks.

No numbnuts, i assumed it was you as you're the only one to have said something and the result jumped up one. The thing is anonymous, do you understand? Geez, you're as dumb as a bag of hammers.

Insult me all you like because I caught you out, but the simple fact is that you're a liar.

Love the way you accuse people of being pedantic and stupid when you're the one who is dishing it out right now
You're starting to make yourself look stupid. All it takes is the MODS to clarify that this is an anonymous poll and i have no access to the results.

As for the poll, it's anonymous and I would suggest that a fair few non Arsenal fans have voted on it too. These things tend to attract voters from other teams, especially if they are anonymous. Also I don't think there are 30 regular Arsenal posters on this board, so that's another reason why others have probably voted on it. Ultimately it doesn't really tell us anything that we don't already know, some people want Wenger to leave, others want him to stay. There's no way you can call an accurate majority on a vote like this. To me the stadium 'protest' spoke volumes about how few Arsenal fans actually want Wenger gone. It was a well publicised event and the vast majority chose not to take part and in fact countered the 'protest' with pro-Wenger songs.

How can <0.1% of Arsenal fans (the rough number of all Arsenal fans who attend an Emirates match) represent the vast majority?

So the vast majority of a stadium 'speaks volumes', but the vast majority of the votes of this thread doesn't?

They are both insignificantly small representations of Arsenal fans. Neither of them speak volumes. They are both statistically worthless.

Considering there were 60,000 in the stadium, it speaks volumes more than the 30 people on here, an indeterminate amount of whom, might not even be Arsenal fans.

Plus you can consider those at the stadium to be dedicated fans by the very nature of their attendance, rather than counting somebody with a passing interest who lives on the other side of the world.

They're both statistically insignificant so the fact one might speak mean more volume than another is irrelevant because neither speak any volume whatsoever. You can't choose to accept statistically insignificant data simply because it has more numbers than another piece of insignificant data. THEY'RE BOTH INSIGNIFICANT AND MEANINGLESS.

It's also a massive (and in my opinion totally inaccurate) assumption to suggest that attending the Emirates makes you a more dedicated fan. Complete bulls4it.

Meh.. whatever. The views of 60,000 fans in the stadium carries more weight than 30 people on a football forum, especially when not all of those 30 are even Arsenal fans <laugh>

Do you know what insignificant means?

Plus, this poll is anonymous. So you don't know whether the voters are arsenal fans or not. Just like you don't know how many of the 60000 are arsenal fans or not.

I would say it's a high probability that non Arsenal fans have voted, as the evidence is when other polls are posted, non Arsenal fans vote. Other than the away fans, I would also suggest that there's a high probability that the majority of those at the stadium were Arsenal fans, who chose not to support the 'protest' :)

Or the vast majority simply did not want to take part in such protests because they had too much respect for Wenger and are grateful for what he done for the club, just because they were not vocal about in the stadium does not mean the vast majority actually want Wenger to stay, to say that, really is stretching things. Many many reasonable Arsenal fans have expressed the view that they would never protest in the stadium because it would be counter productive and affect the teams performance, but the same people have expressed the view that yes, it is time for Wenger to leave.

Fair point. There were probably a number of people who think Wenger's time is up but who wouldn't dream of booing or holding up placards telling him to go, because of the reasons you have outlined. Respect to those people too, because they are actually putting the support of the team before their own opinions, which I salute, because in my opinion it does nothing to help the team on match days when people are creating a divisive atmosphere.

Ultimately though, we all know Wenger is going to be here next season. So I think we should get behind him and the team. Personally I hope it's his last season as manager and the club use this season to source his successor, so that Wenger can bow out in the way that he deserves rather than being hounded out by the fans.

I also think that if next season is to be Wenger's last, then he should announce it early on in the season. This I hope would put an end to the pointless squabbling and divisive arguments that create a toxic atmosphere both on here and at times at the Emirates. Also it would spur the players on to try and win the league for Wenger once last time.
