WHO WILL BE THE NEW MANAGER?

It's not disrespect to criticise anyone when it's deserved.....and it was deserved on more than one occasion imo. You'll find that not a single poster (at least as far as I've seen) has laid into Guidolin when it's not deserved. I fully echo what TLF said above. Couldn't have put it better.

Roof, have you forgotten the embarrassing displays v NU, Villa, WBA and Leicester? They were as gutless as anything served up by Monk this season.

 

You seem to be missing a half

 

I think the big issue here is, Roof sees the good in him and has since day one and you cant fault his enthusiasm for wanting him as our next manager and maybe it taints views a little. He says we disrespect him, but some of those performances deserved the criticism he gets, that's not disrespect its pointing out what has been seen in a game and before anyone says it yes he wasn't on the pitch, but he put the side there and sorted the tactics, so he has to take responsibility. But roof there have been enough on here who have praised him when he has done well. Sometimes you cant have the penny and the bun

 

If only I was missing half , but it's worster .

 

A team cannot turn it on and beat the top 6 teams, and then get thumped stupid against the bottom dross, without serious questions being asked regarding their mental attitude when playing teams below them, and it is the managers job to sort this mental inconsistency out, as it is to sort out poor defending at set pieces. Other previous managers have failed at addressing this, but I do see some early shoots of recovery under Franco, which could bode well under him next season, he's not afraid to drop anyone, even our captain.............

 

Phil if you look at our results in our first I think 2 seasons, we were ranked as one of the highest for beating teams in the bottom half and were close to the bottom for beating top half. I don't understand why now we cant get up for those games.

 

For me Guidolin should get the nod for Manager. Yes, we've had some piss poor performances but he has kept us up, with the support of Curtis.....and he's done it with someone else's squad (having only had 10 days or so of the window left when he joined).

There are enough good signs for me and the last 2 performances, when the pressure has been off somewhat, have been excellent.....the players do seem to be behind him. I'd like to see what sort of squad he'd assemble with available funds and a full window.

Unless there is proof as to why BR did not join in Jan (contract issues maybe), I will have the nagging doubt that he didn't have the balls for the fight, or was too concerned about his image if it went wrong.

 

One word, arrogance! They think they just have to turn up, without putting the same shift in, typical Prima Donna's...........

 

I'm fine with criticism for players , managers and board ....there is a lot of it to go around .
Calling our manager a twat or to tell him to take your **** football back to where the **** you came from isn't criticism , it's jjust Sh:t talk .And with the almighty " Points is Everything " attitude , it's sh:t talk that frankly , has a problem sticking . Nobody cared why Laudrup lost points , only that he lost them . Nobody should care how Guidolin got his points , only that he got them ....under the same reasoning

You said I directed that at you even when Valley pointed out that it clearly wasn't! Now you agree it was directed at Guidolin!

You remind me of that scene in Hannibal where the guy is awake as pieces of his brain are sliced away as Hannibal cooks them. You need a good memory to play this game, Roofolini but it looks to me like Hannibal is on dessert.

Wathan is right when he says:

Exactly what we've been saying. Looks to me like he may have the inside track and Guidolin may well go. But who knows?

The only reason I used that example was you actually admitted to saying it directly to him , although you were talking directly to me the whole post , till suddenly at the end . And valley is a mod , not a judge .
