They'll worry that they've got one of the toughest away games possible in the second leg and won't be arrogant enough to think a result 6 months ago means it will be an easy evening for them. Sure they might use it as motivation or even confidence but it won't make them any less worried that they have to reproduce it when it matters off the back of poor form.
Yes we are. Meyler didnt play when we got stuffed by them twice. Huddlestone did. You may remember we were on a great run prior to the Derby home game. You know that run where Meyler was playing and no Tom. Then Meyler gets injured and we get beat with Tom in there. The best two wins of the season were against Boro and Burnley at home. Away we lost to them both. Meyler didnt play in the two aways.
My initial point was that Myler was poor when he came back from injury and rushing him back against good opposition in an important game is a mistake. I agree with most of what you've put and a fully fit Myler would certainly be in my preferred team but that's not a luxury we are going to have and in my opinion the current team should be starting.
I have to say a fit Meyler should be in the team, all season long the twinning of Meyler and Livermore have hunted the opposition midfield down, closing the space for them to play through, the question is, being out for a number of weeks will he be fit enough. I for one certainly hope so, Thudd sadly would drop out from the starting line up, but could come on later in the game to take advantage of potential gaps against a tiring team. The alarm bells rang for me on Saturday, within 6 minutes Thudd was caught in possession nearly leading to a goal, and they actually scored a goal from a misdirected pass by Thudd. While the lad has improved no end during the last few games from his early season form, I still think its a risk playing him against a very mobile and competitive midfield that Derby have.
I agree if hed played the last couple of games id start him on Sat. No doubt if we get beat on Saturday it ll be because Meyler didn't play and the knives will be out.
I think thats the key point. I'm sure i read after the home defeat, they said they'd targeted Hudd's lack of mobility. Might not be true tho.
one man`s meat is another mans poison, each to their own, tbh I`m with you on the Rugby League thing, but gotta respect their choices
Anyway, if Meyler was only back in training yesterday he'll hardly be match fit for Saturday or Tuesday so whether he should play or not might be academic. No?
It'll come too soon for Meyler, which is a shame because we could do with him away from home. Don't need him for the home leg.
I'd say that given it's played in very few places other than the M62 corridor and the general attendances at all Rugby League games it's much more than just my opinion.
It was never taken on by the snobs down south because of its working class background. Dont tell me Union better. Dont let your bitterness choke you by the way
We have leaked a few goals lately but over all have a good defence which no matter what some think will be under a lot of pressure on Saturday, the last time we were in the play offs we played a very out of form Watford, this time Derby will be backed by 30,000 and the team not just the defenders will have to defend very well, Huddlestone can dictate the game but we all know against a very quick mobile midfield he can be caught out so we cant just relie on Livermore to do all the running yes Snoddy and Elmo have good engines but down the middle is were we need to sort it. If Diame is the one lets just hope he is in one of his up for it games because the middle of the park is so important when we are under pressure. Going forward lets hope we take our chances and lets not forget the massive role the fans have to play, if you are going away 3000 in one corner can make one hell of a noise and then in the return leg as I have said many times before the kc can be very quiet but on big games like this the atmosphere can be superb. 100% effort from players/fans can get us to Wembley.
I wasn't taking it in anyway except the way it came across. 4-3-3 worked terribly the last time we tried it against them.
