I'm a fan of Meyler but last time he came back from injury he was utter ****e, I certainly wouldn't rush him back in for such important games.
There lies the problem though. We all know we could beat anyone in this division. We should be able to put out a second string 11 and compete for the playoffs in this league. IF we play like Saturday we will walk the play offs. If we play like we have on far too many occasions this season we will go out with a whimper and really be in **** street next season. It's clear to anyone with half a brain we've massively under achieved this season but we have 3 games to put it right. As much as I've had it with Bruce, the players are as culpable as him. Time to earn your ****ing money and prove why we were pre season favourites. **** going there and keeping it tight, go for the jugular and get a couple of away goals. We afford far too many teams in this league too much respect. We may not be the biggest club in the league but we're certainly the most talented. So instead of just talking about how good we are on paper. I would like us to go out and show what we've ****ing got!
The first game at Derby is all about tension and using it to your advantage. The pressure on Derby to score and the tension in the crowd will be cranked up the longer it stays goalless, and in that situation they will have to start taking risks and possibly leaving gaps at the back. All City have to do is keep it tight. We have one of the best defences in the league and this is the game when we need to utilise it because nil-nil means advantage to us. Those who want a cavalier attacking approach on Saturday are being naïve. To go on the attack at Derby in front of their biggest, most vociferous crowd, in the biggest game of the season so far plays directly into their hands. We need to save the blitz for the home leg.
It's not like we've got an intimidating ground! They won't be bothered about coming to us! We need to win away IMO.
Intimidating or not we have one of the best home records in the country this season, anyone should be worried about playing there.
I wouldn't be averse to playing Maguire at CDM in the away leg. The Diame one is tricky in terms of wether he can play in both games, the video of Abel's goals certainly shows how instrumental he has been when playing well.
You said they don't need to worry which implies the result is not in doubt. Unless you were just being pedantic of course, in which case we do actually have a very good home record that all sides should be worried about, regardless of any success they may have had sometime last year.
We need to win there! They've done us twice this season & I don't think even a draw at theres would be good enough! We need to do a Watford away! if I remember they came here and scored early! So I'm a realist! Tora Tora Tora
Firstly, does it **** imply they'll win. I am simply saying they won't be worried. Why would they worry? They have beaten us twice this season scoring 6 goals with us getting none in reply. That's not implying they'll win, or we'll win. It's simply a fact. Most of their fans are already of the opinion a win for them is not in doubt. Don't try and be clever and summarise something you think I have said, when quite clearly I haven't. Stick to Rugby, I think you're perfectly suited to it.
the second to last person we want anywhere near the pitch is Meyler do you mean after Meyler went off against Reading we scored and won the game
It's a joke, not a dick, so don't take it so hard. I like him, he's a good player. I'd play 4-3-3 against Derby. McGregor Odubajo Dawson Davies Robertson Livermore Meyler Diame Elmohamady Hernandez Snodgrass
