Well- if we existed in some fantasy football manager world where we could just upgrade every player ad infinitum until we have the best in every position then obviously he has to go. But we don't, we live in the real world, it's a squad game, and there are a lot more higher up the bin list than he is.
AS A QPRFAN I CANT REALLY MAKE A JUDGEMENT BUT I MUST SAY HE HASNT LOOKED TOO GOD BUT MAYBE HE WILL GET HIS ACT TOGETHER AND SCORE A NICE LITTLE BRACE IN THE CUP FINAL
Don't understand why anyone would want to see him gone unless a good price is offered for him. We know at some point we're going to lose 1 or 2 CMs through injury at one point during the season, and he could start games in rotation...especially if we get CL. And he is useful to tactically change a game. I'd prefer to see a replacement for Henderson...a starting 11 replacement. Someone who would work well next to Can. Allen may not be the starting midfielder we always need, but he will change a game more so than Hendo in certain scenarios as @Lucaaas mentioned earlier for the Dortmund game.
Sell Milner, Lucas and Hendo before Allen. Zielinski looks practically nailed on to join and I hope we have another lined up (in addition to Grujic).
I've had a moan about Milner myself this season but he's been very good since January, no excuse for his bang average performances up to January but he's certainly improved.
Don't want to undermine this thread, but a deal has already been done for his return home to Swansea, just saying like........... Hence why I voted NO.........................
ask them why is he trying to be mini gareth bale now. then ask him if being jesus brought him cloaser to robbie fowler his dad.
Milner? The guys has like the third highest number of assists this season in the league and cost us nothing bar wages. Silly to get rid of him. 4 months ago I would have agreed, but not now.
He's productive - but he's painfully slow, awful tackler, can only play out wide and only whip in balls. His general ability in open play is too slow for us. At £160k a weeK, I'm glad he's doing a little bit for the team. In addition to being the highest paid player at the club, he was given a years salary as a signing on. Bonus. That's a lot of money for a journeyman who runs around a lot and with no resale value. Fans will mention his output (which is good) but they did the same for Benteke When he was at villa - disregarding his all round performances. henderson got more assists than Iniesta last season.
Milner's stats look good, but like Jimmy said, his general play is pretty average and slow. I don't think you can simply say third highest assists all season, or highest assists in 2016 and say that he's a great asset because of it. I would keep him, at the very least he's got an experienced head and we seem to looking at kids for new signings again, but I wouldn't be wanting in in a central role. Shove him out wide where he's best and can cross it in. Very few of his assists have come from playing centrally.
Our great and illustrious moderator Valley, who is in the 'know' has informed me the deal is done! So who am to question such info from high places aye.............
Every reds fan on here should remember swans fans calling allen useless and that a certain other player was better in every way... where's Leonardo Britton these days anyway.
