With next seasons division taking shape, and looking at possible away trips, (Villa and Burton as new ones to begin with), I was thinking about who I would want to see come up from League 1 and who I would prefer to see go up as well as the 21 extra teams that need to come down from the Prem.

Personally, I think Norwich have gone and Newcastle likely to follow.

Brighton to go up if there is any justice as well as the fact that we never seem to take points off of them. Didn't take any off of Derby either mind.

Coming up, Walsall look a good bet. Wouldn't personally want Milwall. Last games against Walsall and Bradford for us finished 8-2 and 0-6, so hopefully would be entertaining at least.

The egg chasers also have a play off of their own. Would be good to see them in the top Division next year. Would be good for overall revenue.

Walsall for me as the nearest away day. But pretty much anything but Milwall.

It's looking like Sunderland will stay up but I'd prefer Norich to stay up.

Hopefully bristol won't cock it up

Not too fussed with who comes down as all 3 in the mix will bring big away support with them, as will Villa. Walsall is the obvious choice from a locality perspective to come up.

There will be some big teams in the Championship next season if Newcastle (ha ha!) join Villa and Norwich (likely) as the bottom 3 from the Prem.
Any team coming up into the Championship will find it very tough as we know. Wigan will need to spend big just to survive and Burtons only hope will be that their pitch is so bad that teams wont want to play on it.

Yes, Romantic as it is, cant see Burton surviving. Wouldn't want to play them too early in the season as those sort of teams tend to start with a bang before fading

Without actually disagreeing with the fact that we found it tough, I also am mindful that 2 out of the 3 promoted teams actually survived (us and Preston) and this seems to be the usual norm. I am sure that JGF can provide the stats, but I am not sure that there has EVER been a season where either all 3 promoted teams have gone straight back down immediately, or when all 3 relegated teams have bounced straight back up immediately (????).

Somebody put some stats on here the other day that the team that finished directly above the drop almost always got relegated the following year! glad we pulled away a bit..

Right with the Prem teams so far, thought that was pretty cut and dried- Brighton got really unlucky with injuries and have it all to do now, as do Derby who always seem to flatter to deceive to me, when it matters- Sheff Wed v Hull looking a likely final. Hull to go up if it is.

Walsall were my bet, but a good win for Barnsley today makes them favourites for Wembley. Hope its not v Milwall.

Locally rooting for a friends team, Plymouth to overcome Portsmouth at home. Accrington still in it with Wimbledon who could yet meet MK Dons next season

in 10 seasons 5 did but so did 5 teams finishing in 20th .....
2005/6 teams from previous season in 3 positions above relegation on pts... 21st 20th
    2007/8 19th
    2008/9 20th
    2009/10 21st
    2010/11 20th
    2011/12 21st
    2012/13 21st 20th
    2013/14 21st
    2014/15th 20th 19th
Bolton this year finished 18th last season
FINISHING in 21st or 20th is soft sand territory . A number of teams flirted with the drop for a couple of seasons and survived ...
note for ROD these are facts not stats ....
