The Saturday-Tuesday in terms of Play-Offs is a worry. I'd love to know what our records are like this season when playing Saturday then Tuesday. I doubt we've won both very much.
Brighton are struggling in terms of getting wins. Maybe they're out of steam? I've spoken to a Brighton fan who genuinely believes they aren't getting promoted. He said they don't do well in Play-Offs at all and thinks losing to Boro could be the hammer blow. He's not confident at all about Sheffield Wednesday.
Given Bruces propensity to play players even if they clearly can't handle two or three games in short-order we might actually be better off losing some players to injuries either during the matches or in training as we don't want to turn up at Wembley with a one-legged Meyler, Livermore blowing like a cart-horse and Huddlestone racing snails with Diame
It's a serious point, can you see Bruce resting players at Wembley, he will play his strongest team regardless of fatigue issues on a big pitch, he's made the same mistakes all season. If we had a few missing for Wembley it could be a massive blessing in disguise, just not Hernandez or anybody critical. Then of course we might even not get to Wembley.. I fancy us to get there now, things are going our way, we just need Bruce to finally get the balance right on the pitch between players he thinks should play and players who will get the job done!
Does anyone else feel like we have little chance in the playoffs? For some reason I am totally downplaying it. Maybe I'll get excited if we get to the final....I dunno. In a way its a good thing not to expect too much....
You're aware there's about a two week gap between the 2nd leg and the final? Our strongest team will play, and if it includes Huddlestone over Meylernits fully deserved. Huddlestone has been one of our better players the last month or two, Meyler has been ****e since that winning run last year.
What team would you play in the first leg? I'd be tempted to stick another midfielder in with Livermore and Huddlestone to give us more energy and bite. Do you think Bruce is thinking along the lines of Maguire in front of the two centre backs
Looking forward to these games but i choose the law of the animal kingdom to predict the outcome, only the strongest survive. Hull city (Tiger) Brighton (Seagull) Derby (Ram) Sheffield (Owls) Tiger to feast on the Ram twice i predict we win both games. 1-0 away 2-1 at home Owls to take down the seagulls over the two games 1-0 away 1-0 at home. Tigers to be spitting feathers come the final whistle of the play off final after having eaten and beaten the Owls 3-1 and return to the premier league. Unfortunately I'm away on business in China until June 3rd so some late nights watching on the box for me.
@BLUE_MOUNTAINS_BEAR we'll be meeting up at Cheers for the game at 9.30 if you're interested. There's a Facebook event and twitter details if you're interested! Also obviously anyone else in Sydney.
Absolutely but we've tended to lose the Tuesday one often after a Saturday win. If that happens this time, we need to ensure the goal margin is in our favour.
