.The new season is fast approaching,I bet Mark Lawrenson has got some idea about the forcast for for the first week of the season. Firstly who is going to score the first goal of new season. There is no early kick off on Saturday 13 August, so all teams playing in the 1500 kick off have the opportunity of scoring the first goal of the season Saturday, 13 August 2011 Blackburn v Wolverhampton Prediction:2:1 Result 1:2 Fulham v Aston Villa, Prediction 1:1 Result 0:0 Liverpool v Sunderland, Prediction 3:1 Result 1:1 QPR v Bolton Prediction 1:1 Result 0:4 Tottenham v Everton Prediction 0:0 Postponed Wigan v Norwich Prediction 2:2 Result 1:1 Newcastle v Arsenal Prediction 1:2~Late kick off Result 0:0 Sunday, 14 August 2011 Stoke v Chelsea Prediction:2:2 Result 4:0 West Brom v Man Utd Prediction:0:2 Result 1:2 Monday, 15 August 2011 Man City v Swansea Prediction 3:0 Result 4:0 * I also predict that the first goal of the season would come from Liverpool and the scorer is going to be Dirk Kuyt.( a little bias) #First goal of the season went to Luis Suarez
Are those yours or Lawro's predictions? And I predict that Q.P.R will score first and Jay Bothroyd will get the goal.
If you want to earn a few quid, put a bet on one of the promoted teams to win first day of the season. It nearly always happens.I've a feeling QPR will win their game. There will be an upset.
I hope bloody not! QPR fans are saying they are over-acheiving massively, and that the players being brought in are not good enough. I think they will go down, and Bolton better tell them why
Saturday, 13 August 2011 Blackburn v Wolverhampton Prediction: 2-1 Fulham v Aston Villa, Prediction: 0-1 Liverpool v Sunderland, Prediction 3-1 QPR v Bolton Prediction: 1-2 Tottenham v Everton Prediction: 2-0 Wigan v Norwich Prediction: 1-1 Newcastle v Arsenal Prediction: 1-4 Sunday, 14 August 2011 Stoke v Chelsea Prediction: 1-3 West Brom v Man Utd Prediction: 0-3 Monday, 15 August 2011 Man City v Swansea Prediction: 3-0 Your predictions (If they are yours or Lawro's) are pretty much on par with mine. (I actually only changed a few because I didn't want it to look like I just copied and pasted it )
Will Holden be back? I think he'll be a massive player for you if he can stay healthy (and away from Evans/De Jong)... Who will replace Elmander?
- I think he will be playing around October, but if we really needed him we could play him earlier. - We've signed Pratley (Swansea - Box to Box) and Eagles (Anywhere in Midfield), which I think will contribute more than Elmander did in his three years at Bolton. He had about 16 goals in 90 apps, and Eagles scored 11 goals in the Championship and Pratley got a few, so we're covered for the goals. We're also looking to buy a striker (N'gog is the latest one). Problem is, we've got the same problem as you as we've also got Reo-Coker, meaning we have 4/5 challenging two places! (****ter quality at Bolton but same situation) What's happening with your pre-season anyway, it's going downhill recently! 3-0 against Hull (mixed side) and 3-0 against the Turkish side (Liverpool Reserves ish). One thing I have learned in pre-season is Good pre-season = More up for the start of the season = Better results I'm sure KPR has some explaination that losing these games contributes to the downfall of Man Utd
Arsenal have good starts in the league, and with a front three of Gervinho, Van Persie and Arshavin/Walcott, I can see them pulling through with a fair few.
I have the feeling that two of newly promoted are going to stay up at the end of the season, and two of the established premiership teams are goind down too.
I'm convinced one of the promoted clubs will win on the opening day.It nearly always happens. Its worth a punt. They may not win for another 10 games but one of them usually wins on the opening day. To cover your bet, back certainties to win ie Arsenal,Chelsea,Man U,Celtic,Rangers,I would include Leicester in the championship in that list.
I know elmander didn't score that often, but he was a workhorse. You already filled his spot then? That's good. All 4 games we've allowed 3 goals, but I'm not too worried, as we haven't had a consistent defense at all. Also, reina would have been more stability in the back. The defenders would know he's back there an have more confidence, he would organize them better, and half the goals would've been saved. Overall, not too worrying to me yet.
Saturday, 13 August 2011 Blackburn v Wolverhampton Prediction: 2-2 Fulham v Aston Villa, Prediction: 1-2 Liverpool v Sunderland, Prediction 3-1 QPR v Bolton Prediction: 2-2 Tottenham v Everton Prediction: 1-0 Wigan v Norwich Prediction: 2-1 Newcastle v Arsenal Prediction: 2-3 Sunday, 14 August 2011 Stoke v Chelsea Prediction: 1-2 West Brom v Man Utd Prediction: 1-2 Monday, 15 August 2011 Man City v Swansea Prediction: 3-1 My opinion but i think they'll be quite accurate. goodluck to every team.
Lawro put it down 2:0. Liverpool v Sunderland Liverpool have overhauled their squad since January and one or two of their fans are getting a bit carried away, saying they can challenge United for the title. I think they can challenge for fourth spot but they will not win the league with what they have got at the moment. The Reds will miss Steven Gerrard at the start of the season so the quicker he is back from injury the better, but they have enough quality and competition for places in midfield anyway. Sunderland have signed a lot of players this summer, and their boss Steve Bruce now has the strength in depth he lacked last season. They have spent a bit of money on Connor Wickham, who I think is going to be a really good player but he is still learning at the moment. I cannot see the Black Cats getting any points at Anfield, and it might be five or six games before we know what they are made of but I can see them being safe in mid-table this season. They also have the resources to reassess in January if they need to get anyone else in then. Prediction: 2-0

Arsenal are missing a few players. Diaby, Vermaelen are injured and Nasri and Fibreglass are left out of the squad. RVP isn't fully fit. I reckon Newcastle will win and Demba Ba will score the winner.
