You could say that, you could say that United have declined with poor signings and tactics to allow others to catch up. City and Chelsea have clearly been below par with players who haven't performed anywhere near there best. And Arsenal have been their usual self, always 3rd or 4th best lossing to teams they really shouldn't and being poor against the bigger clubs.

So has the rest of the league caught up or have the big clubs allowed themselves to be caught up. I certainly expect City and Chelsea to be completely different next season and it probably be a two horse race between them, while Arsenal will be Arsenal once again and finish 3rd or 4th.

Yes. Next year is definitely our year. CL football and knock out stages and the league title. And we'll be talking about it every other day for the next 12 months. <laugh>

Talking about Leicester, has anyone noticed how the owners tried to play a prominent part in the celebrations? Pictures of the Thai King and keeping the trophy among themselves away from the players. By all means celebrate but do not imply that the success had anything to do with the ownership. <grr>

Getting an extra £400m should be enough to the owners <whistle>

West Ham have sold 50,000+ season tickets for their first season at the HMRC Stadium and Karen Brady predicts they'll be a top 10 European club.

Boris never even made them put the money from the sale of Upton Park towards their freebie stadium's upkeep, they are selling everything in the ground to fans in an auction and will make more money when the land is sold, talk about being handed a financially stable future on a plate.<laugh>

Wonder how much was in the brown envelope Boris received.:bandit:

They were in the Championship when they bought the club less than 6 years ago.

I'd suggest that the owners played a prominent and important role in what's happened since.......

As important as any owners. They as far as I gather did not choose the players, motivate them or decide tactics with the manager.

They made funds available (as most reasonable owners with an eye on their investment would do).

What's happened there should prompt a public inquiry.

The rent that they'll be paying is a mere £2.5m - and includes all policing and stewarding costs, maintenance, even supplying the ****ing corner flags.

The rent is actually less than the cost of the services that they'd have had to pay for if they owned the place.

I could have just about stomached them being gifted the stadium - as it was. But for the taxpayer to then pay all barring £15m of the £272m it's taken to convert it, is an absolute disgrace.

Therefore the success was partly of their doing.

Without the finance and the vision then they wouldn't have got to anywhere near the point they are now.

This is why West Ham are now pretty much top of my most hated clubs list

The money in football is ridiculous but at least they earn that money themselves through TV etc.

This deal is literally robbing the country of 4-5 hospitals to make West Ham's owners richer

Yeah it's disgraceful, and the Olympic Legacy ****ers as well as Boris are at fault, and too much political power is given to London even though we have a a national parliament situated there.<laugh>

My point was not that they did not have any role. They played their part as any reasonable owners and they should celebrate and entitled to some credit.

To me they went beyond the usual and the reasonable. Anyway it's only my subjective view and no big deal :)

They won the lottery with that one. The taxpayers and Londoners lost hundreds of millions in the long term. Karren did a good job for the hammers here. Gold and Sullivan will give her a few tens of millions ;)

    I agree.

The deal is VERY odd. The price being paid to host that many games is tiny. West ham are in effect going to live rent free.

Do West ham get anything out of the concessions on site?

Are they just tenants getting ticket money or are they absolutely quids in cos they get everything for not even one average prem players wages?

I think if they owned it the policing fees would be higher on their own!

I'm surprised spurs didn't take them to the european courts cos theres certainly a case ehre for uncompetitive trading.

    Deffo serious corruption there then

Even the bloody Italians after world cup 1990 built the stadiums and forced teams to rent and took concessions.

That why juve ran out of the stadium the city had and built their own little one.

100% there's some fishy dealings here to be revealed.

you'd be surprised how much that some teams make on that crap around the grounds.

you won't get any change out of 1 tenner a head at the emirates at HT so they prob pull in 15-20mil per year on match day revenues just form the concessions.

    ergo.. why i asked.

    50k season tickets x 19 games x £10 = 10mil?

If west ham are getting that and paying the expenses they are quids in again... if the councit etc were taking it it might explain the cheaper rent.

£9.5m based on £10 per head.

Not sure what the average is, but I reckon it'll be less than that like, as many don't bother inside the ground.

But even taking it at that, that's the turnover not the profit. No idea what the mark up %age is, but don't forget all of the cost associated with providing the service as well.

The real money is in the corporate seat catering.
