Haven't you seen it? Players came out and it was Pelligrini's last home game.

Ground empty to him giving his farewell speech. It was actually a decent speech from a very decent bloke tbh. The City fans let themelves down today, he deserved more respect ffs.

Went out to the back garden to read at the final whistle, I knew the ground was emptying fast but that is very poor.

The RS are already thinking and saying (like the regular here) that they are in the CL next season. Talk about counting their chickens ...<whistle> They won't even be in Europe. <laugh>

Sevilla to get the record number of consecutive wins. <ok>

    Disgraceful.

This is what expectations do to people . In the older days their fans would have stayed and applauded their team and manager just for being in the premiership. Even after a defeat. Now after a draw, still with a good chance of a CL place, after a semifinal in the CL, they all walk out and humiliate the manager and his team. I felt sorry for pellegrini having to give a speech in an empty stadium.

I just hope that the OT crowd will have more decency this weekend even if we miss the CL and we want LVG booted out.

Pellegrini has been treated terribly by City. He's an average manager but a nice guy. He hasn't deserved the lack of respect the owners and fans have shown him.

I think the owners of City found themselves in a no-win situation. The press speculation regarding Pep was at a ridiculous level and he himself had stalled naming his new club for as long as possible. They had to announce his appointment at some point and I still think Pellegrini's position would have been untenable by now even if they had somehow managed to keep the worst kept secret in football under wraps. I don't think City's performances fell away simply because it was announced that he was leaving, I didn't get any sense that he had lost the dressing room, more that the team had been found out as being 5hite.

Toure pretty much went on holiday when he found out Pep was coming in.

I used to think Toure was the lynchpin of that side. He has definitely gone AWOL and his absence and that of Kompany have been crucial (let's hope it stays that way until the end).

    Absolutely agree.

And it looks like City may get bitten in the arse as a result. The team's energy and commitment levels have dropped off massively since they announced he was out - at the time they were in hot pursuit of the title and now they are struggling for fourth.

I did say at the time, what was Pellegrini's incentive to try and perform well in the league once the title was looking unlikely - he clearly put all his eggs in the CL basket and when the team let him down there his season was essentially over. So he joined Toure, Nasri, Mangala and Sterling in having a summer holiday that started in April.

City were already underperforming way before Pep was announced. With the investment that they've put into the team, they have been worse than United in the league. But hey, City is media's darling and we never really hear any critique against them. I think Pep would have a challenging time with the league. He certainly won't have it as easy as he did at Bayern.

"There is another reason for City fans to be excited - they are going to get better quickly, I am 100% sure of that."

I don't remember ever reading a positive article on United even when we were doing alright. That's what I mean by media darling.

City hadn't been all that great before the announcement, but pretty much as soon as the cut Pellegrini's knees out from under him their season went to ****. They lost three in a row in the PL, including at home to both their main title challengers, got humiliated in the FA Cup, needed penalties to squeeze past an average Liverpool side in the LC and barely even turned up at the Bernabeu.

Before the announcement there were three points off the top and challenging for four trophies. Now they are 15 points off the top and challenging to join West Ham and Southampton in next season's Europa League.

Basically announcing Guardiola in February has turned them from potential challengers into the sort of bottlers that even Arsenal can't match.

It's worse than simply being about expectations. He won them a league title and 2 domestic cups inside 3 seasons. Seriously, how the hell can City fans forget that on his final home game, and fck off out the stadium bcos they drew a game.
