Sad times, because he is bkue and white hooped through and through...but correct decision for all Thank you Ale, you were the real McCoy.
Agree. but feel very sad - he's a genuinely lovely bloke and always a credit to himself and the club. Fought back from two potentially career ending injuries to play the best part of a season in the toughest league in the world - I wish him all the very best for the future. The right sort.
Sad but not surprising news...this will hang in my hallway for a week as a sign of thanks for all he's given;
Crikey that was quick and incisive! I suppose the positive is that it is a sign that JFH means business. So long Ale. QPR legend and always welcome back at LR.
His full post....... alefaurlinAfter 7 seasons a long journey with some tough difficult spells but with some of the best and more precious moments in my career I write you to say goodbye,I won't comment on the decision. I Just wanna thank everyone at QPR.Thanks to every single person who work behinds the scenes,you all been so important to me and to us the players. But more than nothing massive thanks to the fans,for your support!!for your loyalty especially on the bad moments!I will be eternally grateful for that!! Im really happy and please to have been fit and available for selection all season.Playing 30 games it's a massive bust and motivation for me!! I want more...Im healthy and I wanna play football more than ever!! once again GRACIAS POR TODO my family!! Ursssssss
Christ clear out begins quick but that's the way to do it, wish him all the best & good player but has lost it a bit & that's understandable after what he's been through.
Sad to see him go. He has done great for us even though his bad injuries seem to have reduced his speed. Hope he stays fit and can go on playing st a good level.
Great player, and always seemed to have a great attitude. Suffered some terrible injuries and it's understandable that he'd be lacking some pace and movement afterwards. Clearly loved by fans and team mates alike, and although it's probably the right decision if JFH is looking to build a team for a promotion push, it's sad to see him leave. Wish him all the best for the future.
Many tough decisions are in the pipeline. Very sad, but probably, in the light of day, an obvious decision.
Past his best due to his injuries understandably. Sad to see him leave though, true Hoop through and through.....one of the few over recent years that would always give 100% of himself.
I am slightly shocked! It was brilliant that he "survived" the season and he generally seemed to play well. As a team we certainly seemed to play better when he was on the pitch as he was one of our more creative players. I really thought, or hoped, that we would extend his contract. I really wish him well with his career and especially with his health. However, I fear that he may be missed.
Sad day, Ale is a proper footballer. His legs are going but his brain and skills are fine, I would have kept and played as sweeper in front of the defence. Worked for Mattheus for years when he basically couldn't run. He will be incredibly difficult to replace like for like, but if we don't try to find someone expect a season of hoof ball.
Thanks Ale you will always be a QPR player to me. Today we have lost probably the best passer of the ball and football brain: let's hope they bring in someone of that ilk and not some donkey.
I patted ale on the shoulder in a drunken stupor couple of years back and proclaimed ' you will never own the malvinas'...he laughed and said tu madre e putte!
