Fair enough. Its hard to keep track of who says what exactly, and there have been a lot of people getting giddy about Gaston.

Anyway my post was a little aggressive simply cos Im trying to defend someone who I believe was very important to us. I know I was being unfair on Tadic simply to make my point stronger. In truth I like Tadic. He frustates me a lot but I guess only because we know how bloody good he can be.

Anyway, like I said I think he has improved a lot over our recent few games and if he can carry on this form into next season then I may just have to change my decision as to who is the better player between him and you-know-who.

 

IMO, Lallana vs Tadic is close, but I might just give the slight edge to Lallana as he offers more without the ball. Tadic is a better creative passer and will probably create a couple more balls. But Lallana does a bit more linkup work carrying the ball from defenders/DM to attack. Lallana was kind of a cross between Davis and Tadic, IMO.

But what seems very obvious to me is Tadic + 14m >>>>> Wantaway Adam Lallana. So that is a big win for the Board.

 

Tadic is more of a naturally wide player who can operate in the middle. Lallana is a free-role number 10 who can get shoehorned into a flanking role. Whether one is better than the other probably depends on where you ultimately need to deploy them.

The funny thing about this goal though, for me, is that the assist would still be given to Lambert (at least in Fantasy Football), even though this is only an assist in the very loosest of terms (last person to touch the ball). Lambert didn't create the goal at all, so for me the assist should not be his. It should be nobody's. That's the problem with 'assist stats'. It doesn't exactly paint a clear picture of the type of play involved. Also set-piece takers are always going to get more assists, even if they only take a good corner once out of every three.

(BTW - this is not another swipe at Tadic, but at stats and their reliability.)

To be honest I really shouldn't have started this, there are bound to be more highlight videos than videos of him doing stepovers and dribbling down a blind alley where he loses the ball.

 

So we are on Page 17 already, we should have a sweeps stake on how many we will have before the start of next season. I reckon 325! Going to be a busy Summer me thinks!

 

As long as Chelsea, Pool or utd (if they sell deGea) don't come sniffing after Forster, then all 3 of Pelle, Vic and Mane can go
