The ref at the Etihad today was Anthony Taylor from Manchester, seeing as City failed to win it's obvious where his local allegiance lies, and it ain't his claimed support of Altrincham.<whistle>

On that note, I was saying to Diego on our board the City fans let themselves down massively today. Pelligrini's last home game and 95% of the fans leave before he comes out to give his farewell speech. I thought what he said was pretty decent as well but that's no surprise as he's a decent bloke. This is a manager that's won them a league title and 2 domestic cups ffs. But bcos they drew today, fck him we're leaving <doh>

I note that the Swiss are not very good at this tourism lark.

    1. All hotels sold out. Read all the uefa bribe takers have got theirs at below cost price plus free booze and hookers on the Swiss.

    2. Infrastructure can't cope. We don't want tourists

    3. Travel will be restricted. We don't trust anyone and are read to blow the bridges. Don't make noise, don't drink or behave out of the ordinary.

In other words they might as well hold the final in a retirement spa in the alps.

It's crazy when you think most of their fans have seen them be **** back in Div 2 and the last 5/6 years have been beyond their wildest dreams, yet 1 bad season and they seem to have thought that the team is below them. Yes they've underachieved this year, but 10 years ago they'd have taken the position and a CL semi...

This isn't about rivalry, I always thought the City fans were a genuine bunch, but what I've come to realise through a lot of them is that there's as much of a disconnect between them and their players, as there is from their players to them. It's genuinely sad that they've gained so much success over such a short period through a club which hasn't grown organically, that they've become quite shallow. When I raise this with a few of them they don't like it up 'em, and that's an honest opinion, not a wum.

I only know 1 City fan, and he's a good guy to be fair, season ticket holder and he's pretty honest with assessment.

I'm not tarring all of them, I know good city fans as well. But there's a growing change in some of their thinking. A sense of 'bling' about their ego, part of that is rivarly I'm sure but part of it is the Harry Enfield "Loadsamoney" bollox and a sense of "we've arrived".

The two lads that post most on here (PPLF and Bullitt) seem pretty grounded and fair.

Do you not think part of the problem is rival fans & media? When you've got everyone telling you that your team is underachieving then people are going to start believing that. Which to be fair, they are. No way should they be potentially finishing 5th, or even in a battle to finish 4th with the squad they've got and the money they've invested into the team.

They should be doing better but that doesn't excuse not keeping a perspective on what you've already achieved. Pelligrini's done more than enough to deserve an extra 15-20 mins of their time.

If it's ok for Taylor to manage games involving City and Utd it makes no sense why Mike Dean isn't allowed to ref us or the Blues because hes from Merseyside.

Must be because he's not trusted to be impartial.<whistle>

How was the Spurs goal not offside? I know Kane never touched it, but the ball was passed to him, it went about 2 yards away from him, he actually moved towards it initially as well... defence held a line, caught him offside but were penalised for it.

Should've been offside but end of the day everyone knows to play to the whistle and the Southampton players stopping like that is a criminal mistake at any professional level, let alone premier league.
