Stewart is an OK player. He is quite intelligent, he gets his foot in a few times, offloads the ball to better players around him and doesn't do anything stupid. When he first broke into the team I wasn't impressed at all but now he's settled down a little he's alright. We've spent money on more experienced midfielders that have turned in much worse performances than him over the last 15 years (Diao, Poulsen etc.) but ultimately I don't think he'll make the grade here.
Been a beautiful day. Walked the dog for two hours, got a tan, went to work, got a decent Wiiziwg picture, good result, feeling great.... and then you bring up POULSEN! ****er.
Poulsen is still a mystery to me. He's played for Ajax, Liverpool, Juventus, Schalke & Sevilla. 92 caps for Denmark. Yet every time I watched him play for us he couldn't run, he couldn't pass a ball and he never seemed to know where he was supposed to be. Weird. Could've been worse though, I could've mentioned Paul Konchesky and his scouser hating family.
To be fair, I think it's harsh to judge any player under Hodgson... he can make Messi look like a Sunday league player!
But like... he was totally ****ed by the time he arrived here. Not that he was all that to begin with. Thomas Graveson somehow played for real Madrid... that actually happened!!!
If passing to firmino now counts as an assist the world of stats has taken over from common sense. It was a square inside pass that firmino carried 15 yards forward, benteke ran a confusing line, no challenge was made and then the keep let's a week shot under him. Seriously.. Fair play he took a decent corner and his first assist was actually good.
Commentator praising Skrtel for getting back and making the clearance... ignoring the fact that him dropping 10 yards behind the rest of the defence allows the 2 players to be onside
