Play like we have v Liverpool and WHU v City next week and we'll beat them too.

Finishing the season beating Liverpool, WHU and City in style will give Huw a huge, huge problem. My concern is that I'm not impressed the way in which we rolled over v NU and Leicester but the last two games have proved that we are not on the beach.
Before the Liverpool game I was 100% in the Guido leaving camp. Now, I'm creeping towards 50-50.

I couldn't agree more Valley. Both you and I have been highly critical of Guidolin and it's hard to say we were wrong after some of the downright **** displays this season. Even our win against Villa at home was absolutely dreadful. But we cannot ignore results like yesterday and Chelsea so maybe the guy deserves his chance. However, I can't help but think about Monk. We had some brilliant results under him too yet look what happened in the end.

I'm convinced that we have the players, with maybe a few additions, to make top 8 every season but consistency has been our problem under successive managers and Guidolin is just the same. He's also failed, just like other managers, to sort out the huge problem of conceding from set pieces. If that had been addressed we would comfortably be top 8, maybe higher.

So you're right - a good display next week creates a massive problem. Whilst I'm finding it hard to forgive some of our displays this season, if we get something v City then that might just get Guidolin the job. That doesn't mean to say I won't be worried about that.

Of his 3 so called biggest results we have played against much weakened Chelsea and Liverpool. yesterdays was a different case and a quality performance, Lets not forget Monk drew away against a full strength Chelsea and won at home against a full strength Man Utd, so the results that Guid's has had are nothing out of the ordinary. Every manager we have had have recorded impressive victories, what we should look at is maybe the games we should be winning and not winning them as a guide What you say about Monk is maybe my concern, but I suppose he did get us our best points haul in his first full season. I have given a bit, but I am still not convinced he is right for this job. We will have to wait and see, who the old or the new board pick.

I wish Curts would give his honest unedited view on Gwendolin that would be good enough for me !

Not read any of the posts yet, but here's my view. The chips were nice in Ercan's chippie outside the ground, the booze was cheap in a packed Wetherspoons pub "The Millers Well" down the road, and it was a really hot day in London for West Ham's last Saturday match ever at the Boleyn (Upton Park) ground before moving to the Olympic Stadium. Regarding the match, this was a fantastic and unexpected result, minus our captain and our leading scorer against an excellent side going for a top four place and had turned Upton Park into a fortress, they hadn't lost at home in the league since last August and had gone 13 home matches without defeat. A match where the shackles were lifted from FG for the first time with us being mathematically safe after the Liverpool win, and he selected an attacking formation with two wingers and a solid defence. Weakness on corners, what weakness, West Ham had 13 corners and the giant Carroll in attack and we only slipped up once for their solitary goal, albeit an og from the otherwise excellent Kingsley via Sakho. Goal scoring problem? Our leading scorer missing yet four different players scored for us, even Gomis got on the scoresheet.
Huge support for the last away game from the Away Jacks, they were in full voice and drowned out the West Ham fans throughout. MOTD unfortunately did not show our true dominance of the match, and it was the end to end stuff that Swans fans love to see, and all of us will hopefully see next Sunday against Man City.
FG happily waved back after his name was chanted continuously, and I hope now that we do not prolong the agony and appoint the FG /Curtis partnership for next season.
I do not want to see Rodgers/Pascoe anywhere near our club again thank you. He had his chance to show us some commitment in January but was apparently "too busy" whilst our team floundered in the bottom three.

Fair point that. <applause> Well done for making the trip. The travelling Jacks sounded loud and proud on the feed I was watching.

I'm 50-50 on Rodgers but dread the thought of Pascoe being allowed back here again.

Guidolin likes Naughton and is toying around with his role here and there . He's played 3 different positions since Guidolin arrived , and yesterday he played in the position he was brought in to play .
And Naughton is warming to being taken under a managers wing and given a chance finally , his one touch volley pass to Routs was superb and his shot on goal was a blistering shot also .
Kingsley was fantastic too , it was like watching a Ben Davies with more acceleration and a bit more thought into what he's doing .Both need a big summer of building there're fitness and given the role come fall IMO .
I'm the biggest critic there is to replacing these two positions but after Naughton and Kingsley's effects yesterday , it' s hard to be a critic .

Agreed. I see Naughton as a natural successor to Rangel who now has to be number 2. His legs have gone and he's a liability at times. I cannot understand how he's been starting ahead of Naughton. Same can be said of Kingsley on the other side. Taylor number 2 for me.

Kingsleys not only has the attributes of a decent defender but the thought process to hit a low cross into the area wider our relatively short forwards could at least have a chance of competing for , Taylors crosses tend to be high , wide and handsome .

Naughton played a lot more games under Monk than he has with Guidolin. given a chance my arse, he has started 2 of the last 10, He should have been playing more than Rangel, who has been very poor this year , but they have persisted with him.

Rangel should retire at the end of this season imo.

Kingsley had a good game yesterday and a fantastic ball for Ayews goal. Still has a bit to learn defensively though at got turned inside out a couple of times, but overall had a great game and would start him in front of Taylor constantly, He needs to be given more time on the pitch now, I know it is a bit late this season. He has to be considered as a start next year.

To be honest I would get rid of Taylor and bring in someone better there are an awful lot out there who would be an improvement, then we would have to good left backs, instead of the one we have now.

A pity Rangels legs are struggling it comes to them all eventually but with his experience he is still a useful sub to have late on to use the strength he has left in short bursts ?

I totally agree, but with a young fit player in Naughton sitting on the bench week In week out, I feel he should have been having more starts than he has been given this season.

Yep but if the manager can read games well enough he has different horses for different courses available with a deeper quality squad.

I think that Taylor is a decent player but has become a much worse player since it's become obvious he's always going to start following Davies's departure. He should be number two at the start of next season imo unless he has a stratospheric Euros and that might spur him on to do better. I guess it depends on what the manager want from his left back. If you want a full back who bombs forward consistently and gets great quality crosses in then it has to be Kingsley imo.
