    That's the spirit Dave.

I have a foot in both camps .
    A. I worship Delia Smith for saving my club and would like her to be our #1 until she retires or dies.
    B. I blame McTasty for not getting the players in needed to at least try and compete. Our defence that took us down last time was pretty **** even in the Championship.
Playing hardball with a young talent prising him from the mighty Coventry does not justify his salary.
    Our scouts are a joke.
Neil still doesn't have a settled first 11 still and I think he changes game to game depending on who we play.
    This clearly isn't working.
Not scoring in 10 of our last 14 games is the sort of thing Hooton would wake up in the middle of the night screaming about.

    C. The tea lady is a stuck up bitch and doesn't stir the sugar in properly.

So I can see both sides Dave seems to just trust everything the club does and let nature take its course and KIO would replace everything at the club and start over installing a coffee vending machine .

A bit from both camps would suit me and I would give Neil another season to learn from his errors.

Does that make him a Tartar Dave? I quite often disagree with his "musings" but at least he is consistent in his dislike foe the hierarchy at the club.

The thing about AN is he took over from NA when we were in a quite heavy tail spin. His very first game he was supposed to watch from the stands at Bournemouth until Jonny Howson was harshly sent off. AN came running down the steps to the dug out and took control, pushing Mick Phelan's nose out of joint, not only did we not concede another goal, we scored the winner.

I'm sure that's why Phelan joined his old mate Steve Bruce at Hull, who were relegated and have finished up this year as mid table Championship.

AN, however stemmed the tide and took us up via the play-offs. For that reason alone, he has to be our best bet next season!

    Good for you Dave.

After some consideration, my take on the current situation is that relegation was always a possibility at the start of the season, as it always is for promoted teams. Having to go the play-off route was another disadvantage in getting new players in and the failure to recruit a quality CB was a blow. Also, unlike Watford and Bournemouth, we don't have billionaire backing when it comes to signing players, and without a doubt we are the poorest team in the PL money wise. Watford and Bournemouth both had a 'promotion buzz' that carried them early on, though both seem to have declined in the second half of the season and I think both will struggle to survive next season. Their relative success, however, left us having to displace three established PL clubs and that is what we haven't been able to do. I think there will be player changes when we go down, but not a major clear-out as we simply can't afford to do that, despite being one of the richest clubs in the Championship after Newcastle and perhaps Villa. I doubt that either DM or AN will leave, and we will set about building a squad to compete for promotion, including bringing on as many of our young players as we can. I can live with that.

You can't seriously ignore all the horrible performances like Watford Villa Swansea Newcastle Sunderland yesterday and many more because Alex bounded down the stairs at Bournemouth after half time and got the lucky win?.
    With Phelan's chosen 11 I might add.

We don't look like scoring anymore and a mistake is always round the corner.
He had 7 strikers to try and get a performance out of over the season but 5 of those were ostracised.
    Terrible man management

But the real question is did AN do this because he was AN or was it just a new manager bounce? Would sacking AN and bringing in some new in February given us a bounce which would have kept us in the PL ? I'm really on the fence with AN, but one foot is definitely edging towards the sack him side. With hindsight I would have sacked him in February, but we are were we are and I would like to give him a chance next season, provided he has learn't the lessons from this season. I think it's fair to say that unless he makes some significant changes to his management of the team, he could well find himself back in the frozen north well before next Christmas.

I still don't know why we didn't give Hooper more of a chance, we needed a natural born goal scorer and we sold our only one. But I would like to keep Alex Neil, he is still young and learning all the time, I'm confident we will bounce straight back up with him and hopefully invest some money in players.

We have snoddy at Hull Hooper at Wednesday Hughton at Brighton and the ex Canary all stars aka Derby in the play offs.
So the chances of our ex players firing their team up as we hurtle back down is almost nailed on.
I want Brighton to go up.

Am I the only one seeing this as McNally's slightly odd sense of humour?

For context, he was replying to this from a 16 year old:
@davidmcnally62 Get out of our club, we are going down because YOU didn't invest enough for better players in the summer #McNallyOUT

He's been known to be flippant with fans before, I don't see this as being any different. His timing stinks (unless it was trying to deflect attention, then it was misjudged) but I don't think this hints at any behind the scenes turmoil. He's too professional for his resignation to be a tweet replying to a kid trying to rile him up.

Was the relegation is worse than death thing also a joke ?.
He probably quickly realised that if he resigned he wouldn't get a pay off .
Pretty stupid thing to post from your works account , I think he was pissed and emotional and shouldn't have been within a million miles of bloody Twitter.
