Burnsy says it's not Chinese, not Duffen & not someone who has been involved with City before
Club let it go for a bit and then say 'nothing to see here'

Smells of bullshit and smokescreen to me

Give the great unwashed something that they can all hope for, and that way they'll sign up for the scheme because they can convince themselves that it won't be too long before it is replaced by something else and at least they'll have their seat secured when it does

The very depths of cynicism - how dare you! But well worth stating I'd say. Well worth it. I mean how is a consortium close to any sort of deal when the income could be massively altered in three weeks' time? It's ok to have Plan A and Plan B but why cement (or leak) anything at all at this crucial stage - so expect nothing until June. I am off on a bike ride with the 11 year old for a local charity, we have jelly babies, the sun is shining and city will hammer the play offs. Big summer coming up. Enjoy Sunday.

Smacks of another Allam smokescreen, to divert attention from the ****ty membership scheme.

Someone who has been involved with City before?I f you think about it, the very statement seems inconsistent and illogical, and could only realistically point towards Adam Pearson. Perhaps.

Let's start from the Needlers. Chris couldn't get out quick enough. Likely to make a come back? No.
Chetham / Fish - doubt it.
    Don Robby - unlikely, age/health.
    David Lloyd - ha, ha.
The Sheffield Stealers. Aren't they all in nick, or dead?
Duffens consortium - well the rumours are already stating it's not them.

Adam Pearson - wasn't the relationship between him and the Allams strained? Would the clowns sell to him now? Has he (or Peter Wilkinson) still got the money and inclination to get back into football?

It must be Tom Belton then.

Burnsy said NOT someone who's been involved with City before and it's obviously nothing to do with the Allams, they've denied it's true.

I thought it was nothing to do with anyone who had anything to do with us before

It can't be them, they left within 24 hours of the name change rejection, being men of their word. <ok>

Burnsey's right less often than a stopped clock.

(Okay, I know he gets the odd bit, but that doesn't sound as dramatic, and it's usually stuff that's already leaked elsewhere anyway)

They seem intent on having us believe that no one wants to buy us. All this good home bollocks and every so often we hear there's been some interest bit nothing firm, then when there's some suggestion of a buyer they quickly deny it like they can't abide us having that hope.

It's like North Korea where the state tries to brainwash people into believing the rest of the world is awful and every other country wants to invade them. Their only ally is the supreme leader etc etc.

I'm not hopeful that the Allams will sell any time soon. I think it's a status thing for Ehab to show all his girlfriends that he owns a football club. A bit like his silly car that he revs like a 17 year old. Assem's threat to walk away was obviously meant to scare us. I think it bothers him a lot that we were actually quite pleased about it. I think they can't bear the knowledge that when they leave we'll all be happy and able to move on with supporting City again as normal without them. They want to stay and for us to either want them to stay, or to believe that there's no chance of a sale (but not because they won't allow it of course).

Only if they want to sell. Ehab still has unfinished business. He'll want to have at least one other go at us becoming Hull Tigers to prove his dad was right.

Taking the Allams out of the equation.

Are we a good club to buy and why?

    Great point.

Pearson got it right,he knew the potential was here for a club our size to bomb up the leagues. He also knew when to bail out.

No. The only assets we have are the players who are worth less than we paid for them.

The potential asset that potentially makes us a good buy is premier league money and subsequent parachute payments.

When you look at the financial struggles in most clubs, and **** you have to put up with from various quarters, I don't understand why anyone that accrued enough money to buy one, would want to put themselves through running any professional football club.

I'd be too busy enjoying my wealth.

Which is exactly what I'd do if I'd deliberately caused a leak of some description

This ^ If you wanted to buy a club, wouldn't you look at say Villa or TWS first? Especially if we don't go up and the players leave.

Everyone's an expert from the sidelines.

It's when they're in a position to deliver they start to see the reality that pointing out you think something is wrong, is no good unless you have an alternative and if you do, it is actually better.
