Comfortably the best team in the north east in 2007, we now find ourselves comfortably in third place. Congratulations Mr. Ashley, your work here is done. Now kindly **** off!
While he is the top man and has to take ultimate responsibility, this time around he did all we ever asked of him in terms of investment. His mistake was in the people he trusted to use that investment. For me, the responsibility lies with Charnley, Carr and McClaren.
In all honesty we need him to stay because who would buy us? We're ****ed He would want more than the clubs worth firstly
We won't win that we will be mid table my money is on Pearson replacing Rafa when he leaved but i don't mid the fizzy once you're in it its just the same Hope you win
I do fear that we will be down for a long, long time this time. Loads of clubs will be spending beyond their means trying to join the even bigger gravy train of the Premier League, and I can't see us doing that. It is going to be much more tough this time. Worst case scenario, Ashley decides to cut his losses and call in the loans. We would be really up **** creek then.
no chance , if we keep most of our young defence mitro towmsend we have loads to sell and get decent money off then we could bring players in that can do the job ...see what happens
Don't get me wrong, I really hope that we do bounce straight back. I just don't have the confidence that we will this time if Rafa goes and we get in the usual crap that Ashley goes for. We got lucky last time that we had a competent man already in place and it was easy for Ashley to hand Hughton the reins. He wouldn't have gone out and chosen Hughton.
theres that Armstrong to come back .....I think .. get rid of some colo , sissoko , gini , cisse taylor krul it will be all non runners m8 .. I would try and keep tiote thought he was brill the day shown the fight past few games
There would be an extremely good Championship side left after we sell whoever we sell and there would be a lot of cash to buy what we need. Do people not realise how poor the Championship is? Yes, it would depend on getting the right manager in (assuming Rafa departs) and buying the right players but I'd be staggered if we weren't competing for the title.
Tiote would go. He's lost some mobility over the years he's been here and doesn't seem to be able to play 90 mins these days. Moreover he wouldn't want to stay. I would expect Taylor, Sissoko, Wijnaldum, Townsend, Tiote, Janmaat and Cisse to definitely go. I'd desperately try and get Colo off the books but I think it will be hard. Krul, Memba, Shelvey, Perez, Anita and Mitro could also go but we won't sell all 14 of these players in one transfer window.
Me too i honestly see nothing Newcastle about the club anymore anyway and hope we give local and lads opportunities like
And there in lies the problem. Because out track record on both counts has been, in the main, pretty piss poor for a fairly long time hasn't it. Unless Charnley and Carr goes or Rafa stays, then **** all will change, **** all.
I think we will make better appointments going forward. Ashley will be desperate to get back into the premier league and bad appointments in the past have been made based on trying to run the club on shoestring and turn a nice healthy profit for Mikey's retirement fund. As we've seen this season, Ashley has changed tack to try and remain in the league and we seem to be just looking to break even. So in the Championship the stance would be the same I think and do whatever to get back up. Nothing is definite but I think we'll have enough to come back up. Anyway, we're not relegated yet so let's have this talk next Sunday evening.... or not.
