I also remember this time last year when Middlesboro were the odds on favs to walk the championship and look what happened ? much the same as west ham are everyones tip now. can the hammers handle the pressure ?
Predicting the order depends a lot on what sort of form teams can pick up but I suspect the top 6 will consist of; Blackpool West Ham Hull Leicester Ipswich Boro
It is in the "Season Preview" supplement of the new FourFourTwo magazine (September 2011), I couldn't find it anywhere online so just manually typed in their predictions.
Despite the fact that your trying to wind everyone up (why take the bait so easily FrenchTickler??) This table looks quite realistic and barring that you've put Leeds 4th (blatently on a wind up as you know you'll get a bite off a Hull fan) i'd back it ahead of the 442 one. I haven't spoken to a Leeds fan that's confident ahead of this season yet (I know quite a few) and i think they finish about mid-table but i wouldn't be surprised to see us 8th. We've got a great team but our defence and attack are only a couple of injuries away from being average. I still think we'll get play-offs but 8th wouldn't come as a surprise to me
Leicester will be a Cardiff. Sven sacked by Christmas. Finish between 3rd and 6th. Fail in the play offs. It's like watching a car crash in slow motion. Love it.
West Ham, Leicester and Birmingham are the only teams I'm confident will finish above us. Not that I'm saying we'll finish fourth, I just think that apart from those 3, the league is open for anyone to finish anywhere, but I reckon we're looking at 5th-9th.
I haven't read this yet, as a matter of proving a point. I bet when I do read it City are bottom half. EDIT: Oh what a surprise I know it shouldn't annoy that me that we are always underrated at this time of year but it just does. I think AKCJ is about right on where we will finish, hopefully higher but that is realistic and if we finish there with a more enjoyable home form that will show significant progress.
I'm not even sure about those three. Depending on who leaves West Ham and Birmingham could go very iffy and Leicester have signed a completely new team almost. I don't think that they'll gel straight away. This years championship is certainly an exciting one, because anyone can beat anyone. But I'll be shocked if we finish lower than 9th.
Why is it that everyone says this league is going to be so tough with West Ham and Birmingham coming down, and yet the League 1 teams coming up are just going to waltz straight through to a comfortable top half finish? Surely it will be harder for them, being used to playing against League 1 opposition than us who are used to playing against players closer to the ability of those coming down.
Leicester fan, what do you think is your strongest side? You appear to have a lot of central midfielders but no wingers.
Well we're really short on strikers and wingers at the moment. But we're after Routledge and townsend for the wing and Maynard for striker. Schmeichel Pantsil Mills Tunchev Koncheskey King Wellens Johnson Gallagher Nugent Vassell
Haven't Swansea had a bid accepted for Routledge? Townsend isn't a bad player, and looks like you'll be paying over the top for Maynard.
You'll start St.Ledger ahead of Tunchev, he's Sven's signing and he cost money, he won't be left on the bench. I think that applies to many of your new signings, I also expect Danns will start.
