Don't think it's pay per view according to SSN website.

Not sure Sky will be allowed to charge anymore, you'd pay for half the races on Sky PPV and the rest free on Beeb

Had virgin installed yesterday & the broadband is far superior to Sky's! Sky's TV is much better though so what you really need to consider is what do you want? Better TV with ****e internet connection or better internet conection with ****ter TV?????

As a real heavy Internet user (especially at Uni) when with virgin found they would throttle my connection for hours at a time, even though it was totally legit stuff (uploading project files and stems to hand in electronically for Uni or send to another artist or downloading from my personal drive at Uni). I mean files could regularly be up to 4gb, but I was promised unlimited broadband without a fair use policy and the salesman on the phone said it'd be fine!

Was with Sky all this past 3rd year of Uni and haven had one problem yet with it, was told I'd get speeds up to 8 megabits and receive 10 so I'm fairly happy and get download speeds of 1.5-1.6 megabyte/second.
Doesn't matter too much since it's only me and my gf and I'm the only heavy user.

Surely if you're getting 1.5MB/s download speeds you're getting at least 12Mb/s? Not bad when paying for 8Mb/s.

I found that there is no difference in the internet connection's, Sky claims that there internet's worse but it seems to be the same as Virgin's for me <ok> Sky is more reliable, there internet doesn't go down once every two month! The TV is much better with Sky as you said. The internet is just as good as Virgin's and we have much more TV channels with Sky and it's significantly cheaper! Getting rid of Virgin and getting Sky has proved to be a brilliant decision, so I'd defiantly recommend Sky to anyone <ok>

Before swapping entirely to sky for everything I had virgin tel line and broadband , I threatened to leave sky and they gave me 20% off everything, £7.50 a month broadband free for 3 months and half price line rental for 6 months.

My advice is threaten to leave whichever company you are with and get a discount for staying ;) and by the way for normal web browsing there is no difference between the two except virgin is a hell of a lot more expensive, plus you get anytime plus when you have sky hd

Maybe my maths is slightly off (rough calculation on the megabit side, definite download speed though), but yeah it is great!
Even moreso since they told me I'd only get around 6 in the contract. I do only live about half a mile from the exchange though so that could be why. I can't comment on Sky's service further out as I've only been with them for Internet here.

You might as well just have freeview , and for any football just go and watch a live stream over the net , simple ! We cant keep feeding that rat Murdoch .

That's a bit rich coming from a toon, can I ask you the reason you wanted to be promoted back up ? I bet to play the biggest clubs, but also to get money to afford to pay all those stars you have or want to have, without Murdoch and BSKYB there would be no premier league, there would be no £50m a season for being there, and there would be no live tv games at so no streams on the net!
