If WWE Superstars Were Football Teams... Lex Luger - Leeds United please log in to view this image WWF threw everything at Lex Luger to make him a success. The company spent millions on the project, even going so far as to buy the 'new-Hogan' a tour bus and shipping him off on the ultimately abortive Lex Express tour. No matter how much they tried, Lex Luger could never be the star they hoped for. It didn't help that every time he got close to a championship, he was booked to fail. When the 'Lex Luger project' bombed, the former Narcissist gradually slipped from view, and despite the WCW's constant insistence that he was a main-event player, he'd never again come close to the true big time. Peter Ridsdale's failed Leeds United ambitions eerily echo WWF's plans for Luger. Both cost the company huge quantities of money, and both ultimately ended in abject ruin. Not to mention both Leeds and Luger are almost universally unpopular...
I saw Worthington and E.Gray when they played for us. Sad news, just like Eddie he was a genius footballer, an old school maverick..
FFS Farsley I used to collect the newspaper clippings for my scapebook from those matches. They were pre season games I think, against the likes of Halifax etc. I think I still have those books up in my attic..
Morning lads......just about to set off for Preston, if Glory or Chesh are going I'm in the Holiday Inn....CREW CREW CREW
I am banned by swmbo. She was fine until she found out about a pickled paddy giving me his hotel details. Have a good weekend shaks.
Frank Worthington said he ain't got Alzheimer's just a slow memory due to age. I played against Frank when he came to Hong Kong for a pre season tournament with Hudds Town. Genius and best bit was watching him take the last drag on his cig in the centre circle b4 kick off
If the likes of Doukara, Antenucci and Bamba play then I kind of hope we lose, we need better players and a good last day show by the Joe average players will just paper over the cracks. If we give a few of the youngsters and Botaka get chance lets hope it is a positive showing for them to take us into next season.
Dont think its even a Scottish thing Ristac, its just the cheap striker thing. Quality strikers from anywhere will cost top dollar in signing on fee and wages and were not in that league any more
Morning Eire. Good scouting would at least help with that rather than buying on the back of one good televised game.
