You've obviously got so much money you can afford to give some away.

I'm hopeful, our defensive record is cracking at the moment but I'm not getting excited, I still think we can look toothless in attack for large parts of the game, as much as it is improving. Hoping for a boring 1-0 win, nothing to get heart attacks about.

Not sure anyone has mentioned him yet, but would anyone be for/against Rolando Aarons starting on the wing vs Villa?

Just think I haven't seen enough of Wijnaldum or Perez recently to guarantee them a starting place. Aarons is naturally a left winger as well so would be able to deliver good ammo towards Mitro/Cisse up top and also isn't afraid to get back in and help out with the defensive side of the game.

I would like to see Aarons play.
I'd also like to see De Jong in the team.

Aarons De Jong and Townsend behind Mitrovic

Has to be one or the other out of Mitro and De Jong - both far too slow!

Purely because the small times I've seen him play this season he has been ineffective, I wouldn't have the balls to put him in.
As much as you can say the same of Perez and win we still might see a small moment of brilliance from either

For me Gini is still the better player, by far out of the 3. Sure he's been low key, but he's had quality moments pretty much every match. Just needs to do it more often. This is a do or die match, big boys need to step up and be counted.

I was thinking about this last night after I posted and changed my mind. I would want Gini starting as he IS a quality player and even if its only 30-40% of the game the extra quality and experience he can bring to the team (especially vs Villa) could prove vital so on that basis I would pick him also.

I do aswell. This game is far from a banker. And I think Norwich might Nick a point. Mackams to lose.

Could basically be over today, one way or the other...

We lose, Sunderland win, it's curtains. We win by loads, they get smashed, we sit pretty.

    Anyone nervous?

To be fair I had pretty much resigned us to relegation since McClaren's appointment, so I think it will be more relief than anything. I hate false hope. Personally, if Rafa does not go super attacking today, I will come for him.
