Somehow we're at this point of the season again. Doesn't time fly when your watching mind numbingly boring football? Admittedly City at least have a direction this season, even if has involved watching pump the ball out of touch in the hope of prevailing with a 1 nil win from a corner and have kept the pipe dream of a Playoff berth alive until the penultimate week! Even with this horrendous late collapse, highlighted by City's deserved mauling by Wednesday last week, they had shot themselves too many times in the foot previously with stupid draws and a lack of scoring from open play. The win against Brighton points the direction forward, where for some reason unknown to everybody, they seemed to click and played really well. This season at least hasn't dipped as far south as last season - the torrid display at Blackpool on Sky still lingers on - but this management isn't one for not trying to create as bad a performance. Thanks for the job Russell but you have to go otherwise next season will be wasted as well. As ever, thanks to those who predict And to those of you that have predicted over the past 5 seasons - didn't think I'd see some many deluded guesses when I started! Permutations @Sayer77 has a three point lead and knows that as little as a point will see him win the title. @Masky needs a CS and more to have hope of overthrowing Sayer in what would be an unbelievable (but not impossible) turn of events. After last week's points @irishbluebird and @BluefromBridgend have managed to push themselves ahead of @ccfcremotesupport and they only need to match his result to secure the final two Capaldi Cup qualification spots. A big point last week for @blueturk the cat means that he is currently set to escape the drop zone by virtue of his Full House BP. However, that is a slim margin and any big score for himself or @jonahbluebird and @isawronnymoorescore will them full of a final day escape. It's set up for a tense and tight finale. @Barry Tiger is virtually guaranteed a spot in next season top tier and a point or more should see him bad the Div II title as well. Two points last weekend saw @william5551 draw level with @FrankfurterBlue, but he unable to overtake him thanks to Frankfurter's 6 CS's. Can Frankfurter hold on to the position he had held all year or will William pip him at the last? @Rumney Bluebird is a strong position regarding the final playoff spot and @Oldsparkey probably needs a final day CS to dislodge him. Best of luck Bluebirds
City 2 - Brum 0......S. Morrison to score. Thanks blue sheep.....another admirable job done by you this season.
A draw or a win to see the season off.... and if a win, for whom???? And here we are in the last chance salon. Heart says win for us but head says draw. Nothing to pay for except promotion for me. So, I will go for Whittingham to score and a 2 1 win. When I see the team, I might change my scorer if there is a chance!!! but it will have to be done form Prague where I shall spend a long weekend with 'Er indoors'. Note that I also didn't play dirty an wait for will and Stevo to post first and then copy them. Honest Joe, see! Then again, I have changed my mind twice while writing this post! Once again, Mr Sheep, I echo the thanks of Whiffle for all your efforts.
1-1 please Sheep Zohore Massive thanks for organising this each season P.S I opted out of the Euro predictor as I'll be out there for the first 2 weeks so it wont have my full attention.
City 1 Brum 2, Connolly with the consolation goal. Got to go with a drastic prediction to try and avoid relegation which looks nailed on for me this year.
First of all big thank you to Sheepy for all your efforts running the league again this year. A brilliant job. As for our final game I fancy we'll finish with a draw. 1-1 please with Whitts tucking away a dead cert penalty.
Well, if it's a draw, that's me in the play-offs and my season gets extended, again!!!! I was originally thinking draw too... but 2 2 but now my optimistic self has taken over. best of luck to all.
you are both so unpredictable so Cardiff 3 v 2 Birmingham (Whitts). Thanks for accepting me for another season and I look forward to participating next season.
2-1 to us, whitts please. Was going to go 1-1 but I need a different result from Irish to get into the cup. **** or bust!!!
Remote's got to get past me first Sheepy!!!! Could be a bit of an end of season free for all with nothing to play for except pride. Do we still have any after last week? Could also be the swansong for Slade and his merry band and up to half the playing staff. My head says Birmingham will win but I'll show a bit of support and take a 2 - 2 draw with - was going to say Morrison to score but I see he's had an ankle op and is out for 10/12 weeks, may miss the start of next season. No news yet on fitness of Immers or Ralls or where Fabio has disappeared to. I'll come back with my scorer once the press conference ends. If none of that lot are fit, will we have anyone capable of scoring? Looks like the conference ended 50 minutes ago with no more updates on injured players. I forgot to include Pilks in that bunch after he went off last week. Looks like Zohore, Whitts and Noone are the only previous scorers of any note so I'll go with Zohore. Thanks again Sheepy.
Our lot were already on the beach last week so no confidence for a result. City 1 Brum 4 Whitts to score. Many thanks to Sheepy for another fantastic effort this season.
Sheepy thank you for looking after us all this season - I have really enjoyed the competition. Like Stevo I will also be in France but I would like to enter the Euro competition please Now, can I keep the chasing pack behind me for one last match? Birmingham have had some reasonable results recently and goals are likely. City will have a hangover from last week and have injury problems. I will follow my old buddy BfB in his 2-2 prediction with Zohore to score.................That could be a big mistake! Bluebirds!
I have to hand it to Rumney Bluebird for predicting before me. All he had to do was wait for me and then predict the same to be sure I couldn't overtake him into the playoffs - well done that man. As it is, I'll try to do what City couldn't at Sheffield last week - win the tie and overtake the playoff holder. I'll have to be completely different to win it, so I'll go for a City win and a clean sheet at the back. City 2 - 0 Brum with a goal from Pilks to end the season.
Really undecided on this one the pressure has got to me so going for a 1-1 whitts to score good luck all and thanks for doing this again this year it's part of my game day ritual
I reckon an end of season draw in the sun -1 apiece - Zahore to score. Many thanks Mr Sheep for your endeavours this season!
