I do love flags Ponders, thanks. May I just say something though, I would never have said that USA's 50th state, Hawaii was in Oceania. Could you check and confirm if indeed it is in Oceania or not please?

 

I love flags, too, M - Uganda and Kiribati being a couple of personal faves.

As Hawaii is located within the Polynesian Triangle, it must be considered Oceanic on a geographical level. Hawaii can only be considered American on a political level - much in the same way the Falklands are considered British, but are most definitely Patagonian in terms of geography.

I wasn't really meaning anything by mentioning it was part of America and I did know that Hawaii is quite a bit further south than mainland USA, I just wasn't aware that it was in the Polynesian Triangle. Everyday is a school day. To repay the favour, I will tell you this wee gem. As, I'm sure you know, Hawaii is the USA's furtherest south state, but did you know that Alaska is the USA's furthest north, west and east state? The north and west are easy to believe, so it is also the furthest east! Crazy stuff, I'm sure you will agree! Obviously, if you take in the manmade international dateline this wouldn't be the case, but if there was a dateline which was straight down where it should be, it would.
