May I add my congratulations to Leicester, what an effort. Having just returned from a week break abroad, I had the enjoyment of watching the hissy fit derby between Spurs and Chelski while feet up and enjoying several pints in a warm climate, the look on the Spurs fans faces as their title hopes faded was priceless, however what I will say having ripped the piss out of them is that while disappointed, they were truly happy that Leicester had done them for the title as opposed to the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, and the usual contenders. It`s a victory for all `smaller` clubs, and shows that solidarity, and TEAM work count for everything. Also the way Ranieri was hounded out of Chelsea makes it so much more special for him, cracking fella.

His story itself is surely more remarkable than that of Vardy or Mahrez. He's been basically a massive failure since Valencia and sacked, pretty quickly mind, by nearly every club since before the absolute debacle of Greece. It was literally inconceivable at that point that he, as a likeable and nice loser, could ever have any kind of success again, never mind win a major league title and then with a ridiculously unfashionable club. If Vardy is getting a film, Claudio should.

    No idea.

Steve Evans: "If I'm sitting here in a year's time, you'll be drinking champagne a bit like Leicester today." <laugh>

... some lovely complements ... thanks lads and lasses....

... please don't go losing your money with bum chin :) ... don't expect us to be title challengers next season but I think you will see us challenging for a European place ... great youth coming through as well as some likely transfer gems ...

Good Luck in the play offs ...

I have to say Ranieri comes across as a top bloke. You can see why players want to play for him, which this season they obviously have. He's even made Wes Morgan look good, which in itself I thought was nigh on impossible. The best words to describe Morgan at Forest would have been slow and ponderous, always a mistake in him.

This is the trouble with modern football. Unless a manager wins the league he's a failure and should be sacked.
Sure Greece was bad but it doesnt mean he's a bad manager or a failure. He did ok at clubs after Valencia.

He really didnt at Juve and Inter and only slightly better at Roma.

Chelsea wasnt great either considering the resources he had.

    So not a failure then.

After two years away from management Ranieri returned to take charge of Parma in February 2007 following the sacking of Stefano Pioli.

The club were facing the threat of relegation but an impressive run of results that saw Parma take 17 points from 10 games was enough to steer them to safety.

Ranieri was a wanted man again. He was heavily linked with taking over at Manchester City but remained in Italy and was named Juventus coach on a three-year deal.

During his first season with Juve, who were back in Serie A for the first time following the Calciopoli scandal that saw them relegated to Serie B, Ranieri led the club to a very respectable third-place finish. The following season Ranieri engaged in a war of word with Inter boss Mourinho and a run of one win in seven games left him fighting for his job. He was sacked at the end of the season.

Ranieri was appointed coach of Roma, the club he had grown up supporting, two games into the 2009-10 season after Luciano Spalletti had suddenly resigned.

That season Ranieri was again in a battle with Mourinho's Inter Milan. Roma led the championship going into the final weeks of the season but were pipped to the title by Inter and also lost to them in the Italian Cup final. Ranieri resigned midway through the following season.

Ranieri took over Inter Milan after Gian Piero Gasperini was sacked after losing four of the first five games of the season. Inter put together a run of seven straight league wins in December and January as talk of a tittle challenge surfaced.
That soon died down after a poor run of results and Ranieri left the club by mutual consent before the end of the season.

Ranieri took over at cash-rich Monaco in the summer of 2012 and led them to the Ligue 2 title for the first time in their history.

In their first season back in Ligue 1 Ranieri led them to second, finishing runner-up to Paris Saint-Germain. It wasn't enough to save his job though and he was sacked.

Ranieri took over the Greece national side after the 2014 World Cup, signing a two-year contract but he was in charge for just five months before being sacked.

The Italian lost his job after suffering a humiliating 1-0 home defeat by the Faroe Islands in a Euro 2016 qualifier.

What are you on about? He got sacked from them all for being a failure. Coming 2nd isnt good enough at Juve, they've just won the league 5 seasons on the trot. He had a terrible spell at Roma after an initial good run and then when at Monaco he didnt achieve what was good enough for them either.

    You've just proved my point.

..Bum Chin talking rubbish... Ranieri's teams have finished second in major European leagues to clubs that were the power houses of the time..

His Chelsea team finished second to Arsenal's 'invincibles' ... he'd signed Robben and recommended signing Drogba before Abramovich replaced Ranieri with Mourinho ... Mourinho then won the league with the squad Ranieri had put together...

He's a bit of a new fan is bummers Fosse. Success and winning is the only thing. It comes from winning on FIFA and believing it s apiece of piss. we're awash with em.

Great interview with Ranieri by Martin Samuel. In Claudio's words at the end.

One, I want to win. I want to win on Saturday (against Everton), I want to win the Premier League, I want to win again, I am never satisfied.

'The other says, "Claudio, how many managers are there in the world? Too many. And not everybody is Sir Alex Ferguson or Fabio Capello or Carlo Ancelotti". So this is a good career. We have done something impossible — so maybe the bookmakers will not try to sack me first. Maybe second.'

Absolute rollox. How many of Ranieri's signings did Jose sell the summer he took over? It was a mass clear out. And even if he had just won it with his players - which he didn't - Jose still won it and Claudio didn't! So what's your point? Did Arsenal suddenly turn **** the year Jose took over or did he beat them?

I'm not anti Claudio - I'm an Inter fan - so don't make out I am. Finishing second at Juve, Inter, Roma and Chelsea WAS a failure. If it wasn't, why did he get sacked? He's managed 4 clubs in serie a - that's a lot of teams to be 'powerhousing' against him. Convenient eh? And as for recommending Drogba, he'd just had an amazing season with Marseille and nearly every big club in Europe was after him. That's like recommending Harry Kane now!!

And I imagine you were punching the air when he was appointed weren't you, just like Lineker was...
