To be more precise The White Horse in Compton Basset ( Robbie William's Local, he lives in the village). As I said it's not always on unfortunately.
A bit far from where I am stopping on way to Dorset to be drinking but will look where I will be staying. Enjoyed Sheppy's in Devon. That would be my choice of draught if they sold it round my way. Some Aspalls and Symonds one were very pleasant too. Wish they sold them up here instead of the gassy abominations foisted on us.
It would appear, according to most of the posts on here, that these Chinese investors are cider producers, mostly from the South West.
Would have to explain to the wife that I wasn't getting bladdered but in fact supporting our sponsor if that was to be the case.
Hmm, alcohol damages the liver, which makes you look yellow....maybe that's just a jaundiced view, but what's this thread about again?
You need to know your cyder from your cider! CYDER is from the first press of the apples! Cider is pressed from the pulp left over! So if you're gonna drink it pick the Y
Ok..... from takeover potential to fkn cider and lager !!!!, dear jesus this has to take the biscuit for going off topic by miles unless our Chinese chappies are brewing moguls, who specialise in dutch cider and lagers ffs !!!! 11 fkn pages and i learned more about brewing then i did about our potential new owners, you just gotta laugh !
We could get someone to investigate how it's shifted from a possible takeover and rebuilding the club, to the craft of making pear cider. Sounds like a job for Perry Mason type.
Nerd mode. Actually, orientals struggle with alcohol, as historically, to reduce the risk of disease, they chose to boil water and infuse it with tea, whereas we processed it to produce alcohol, which leaves us with a greater tolerance. They also fell behind in science because they stuck with pot products, when others moved to glass and could observe the process occurring. I think this is connected, because who wants a cup of beer? I actually only read this once, so it could be complete bollocks, but there it is.
Potential new owners? That is a reason to laugh. From unsubstantiated rumour to potential new owners in one thread. The discussion on cider had more connection to real world happenings.
