Good article, cheers for posting Nines.

Leicester are neither **** nor lucky. They're a well run club who got exactly what they deserved this season. We're a genuinely **** club run by a hubristic buffoon and we've got exactly what he deserved for the past five seasons.

If you don't wanna read the article then,,,

It's history. Our owners f***** up, but they covered it. We have as good a chance as any to get back to the PL next season and stay there. Leicester, Watford, Bournemouth and others have shown that such hope is not just a dream.

They ****ed up and did nothing more than cover their own idiocy. Read the article.Take FFP and a lucrative multi-billion property gamble out of the equation and they'd be no more than dust on the horizon and we'd be an AFC in the Isthmian League. In fact take a lucrative multi-billion property gamble out of the equation and they'd never have been here at all.

Leicester, Bournemouth, Watford ? (....and Southampton and Swansea and Hull and Burnley and Brighton and Middlesbrough and Palace and Cardiff and Forest and Derby and Wednesday and etc...).

    Take your pick....

All clubs behind us five years back, all going somewhere while we rack up a quarter of a billion debt to stand still at best.

At least we have an infinite number of PR monkeys. :emoticon-0103-cool::emoticon-0103-cool::emoticon-0103-cool:

    We'll always have that.

The scary thing is how many youth team players we would need to bring through the academy set up in order to get even two or three into the first team. I remember going to afternoon games at Loftus Road when Kevin Gallen was smashing them in for the youth team but I honestly don't remember anyone else from that side who made it big.

Injuries, natural wastage, lack of sustainable talent etc means we may have to have a huge academy in order to weed out the also-rans and find the rough diamonds.

Either that or we will have our own sub-standard players instead of having to buy someone else's sub-standard players.

Who in their right mind would buy a football club?! Might just as well wipe your ar*e with £50's

**** me! This thread is depressing.

I have actually quite enjoyed the last few years as a rangers fan.
My two lads have seen Taarabt and that team walk the championship title; they've also seen some world class players close up and of course there was that unforgettable day at Wembley, preceded by that play off second leg at Loftus Rd.

    Cheer up you buggers.

i tend to look at this in a differant way though when chelsea were given 400 million by mathew harding and 800 million by abromovich there was no criteria
to stop how much money could be invested in a club, but as soon as we get the countries richest man in comes all kinds of restrictions to stop qpr getting any benefits,
its the second time that a situation that could have really made our club so powerfull the other time was when guiness were considering buying us,and all the big clubs objected saying we would have a un fair advantage
so its a bit like one of my friends once said
WE OF QPR ARE JINXED DONT FORGET AS WELL THAT AS SOON AS THE MITTALS JOIN US A WORLDS LOW PRICE IN STEEL HAS MADE THERE WEALTH DROP TO ONLY 7 BILLION AND YES SLIGHTLY LESS THAN ABROMOVITCH
    you couldnt make it up

    Morning.
All those memories still bring on a smile but the future does appear a bit bleak.
Let's see what business we do in the summer.

Holy sh!t I'd like to know how this compares with successful academies elsewhere as seems like a ridiculous large amount of staff who presumably pick up some sort of salary.

I'd be happy if we could take the odd step forward without the customary 4-5 steps backwards that seems to follow. To get out of the financial mire we really need Premiership football for which at the moment at least looks little more than a pipe dream, there's a big enough gulf between us & Championship playoff level so really are going to have to be patient (or very lucky). We're certainly not in the position where will only need to bring in 2 or 3 players this summer.

Wow, what a list of staff - perhaps they should make it a goal to use of few of the more senior development players to assist our relegated new farm team Basingstoke Town get promoted back to the National League South - somehow they have managed to win their last two matches after a miserable season.

Hopefully we can soon put our FFP saga to bed..

QPR’s FFP dispute expected to be resolved by commission

QPR now expect their Financial Fair Play dispute to be resolved by a commission.

Rangers are challenging the legality of the Football League’s Championship FFP rules, under which the club face a massive fine for losses recorded during the 2013-2014 financial year.

Promotion to the Premier League was achieved that season, but relegation the following year left QPR open to a potential fine of more than £50m.
Despite several subsequent reports of an imminent deal between the two parties, legal arguments have failed to resolve the issue.

And with no tangible progress having been made in several months, Rangers now believe the matter will be referred to a commission that will consider evidence from both sides.

With League rules having stipulated that clubs making a loss of more than £8m would be subject to a fine, QPR reported a loss of £9.8m for the year in question.
But that was only after the club’s owners wrote off £60m in directors’ loans in an attempt to boost their case against a heavy fine.

QPR have also argued that they should not be punished according to FFP rules introduced after the club committed to player contracts while in the Premier League between 2011 and 2013, as they could not then be reasonably expected to comply with the new regulations once relegated to the Championship.

Fair enough, but the consequence of the way the owners have handled last few years is that the next few won't be much fun, unless we find a new Taarabt (hopefully slightly more professional) and don't sell him as soon as he looks good.
What commission? Appointed by who? Might as well get it straight into the courts which is where it will end up probably.

Spot on. The pessimism on here is more depressing than our Club's performance. Where have all the optimists gone, Dejected f***** off, every one?

Most of us are positive about positive things like Leicester winning the Premier League. QPR have gone the opposite direction, hence some of the negativism.
