    On this, the FA statement reads: "It is alleged the player’s behaviour constituted violent conduct in circumstances where the standard punishment of three matches that would otherwise apply is clearly insufficient."
    ==============================================
    ... unless your name is Torres and/or you play for Chelsea, in which case we will rewrite our rules.

    Just asking but I assume one is allowed to slap other players in the groin?

    More importantly, should Fabregas be referred to as The Phantom Dick Slapper from now on?

  6. Not advocating the use of violence even if against these horrible cheating Chavs (ok I might make an exception! lol), and I was appalled that a decent man like Hiddinck got caught up in the aggrieved, but one small account of events post match really warmed the cockles of my Spurs heart: that our reserve keeper Vorm feels so much part of the team/squad that he waded in to support his colleagues. Says a lot about the team spirit that has been developed in recent months <ok>
    Now all they need to do is channel that commitment and add some hard earned experience........

    If Torres escaped a red card because the eye scratch was part of an already seen incident, it must also have been deemed not over and above the level that warranted further action. The same rules must apply to Dembele, or am I being too logical for the FA.

    You peoples can go on and on as much as you like about blind Refs, unfair decisions and how many of the other lot should have left the field early but you know that no matter how much you do it isn't going to change a thing. Your player is bolloxed and your club is going to get a big fine. It is the way of things in football and you might as well just accept it. The one thing the FA should notice but probably won't is the number of times the same player is involved in stuff. Costa is a complete disgrace and I can't imagine anyone other than a Chelsea supporter or his Mum thinking he is lovely and just misunderstood. But, you know asking the FA to do the right thing is less likely to happen than the Queen buying the doughnuts on her birthday so whats the point. You had a great season and somebody had to come second so just rejoice in the fact it was you and not your neighbours. Check out the flights to Europe if I were you.

    "Meanwhile, Mousa Dembele has been charged for an alleged act of violent conduct which was not seen by the match officials"

    Dear FA:

    Bravo. Just bravo.

    We should appeal and just send that photo as proof.

    No words. Just the photo.

    Surely we/ Dembele will appeal before the deadline today? The photo is evidence enough to show that the line-o saw the incident and the fact Costa didn't even hold the correct eye shows there was no damage whatsoever. Although to us it's blatant he's gone for the eye-poke, I'm sure our legal team can battle it out by just saying he's pushed his face and his fingers have happened to go near his eye. That happens a lot in football (and in general) when trouble breaks out. To get anything more than a three-game which is being suggested by the media is an absolute joke, especially when worse cases have been dismissed or dealt with the general three-game suspension.

    Costa's stock-in-trade. Put your hands on an opponent in what looks like an innocuous act. Scratch him. Looked at from behind Mousa, it looks like this:
