Some of these kits really aren't worth the re-design. From an aesthetic point of view, of course.

Like your avatar? Sorry, but I had to say it. :)

Personally, I think the green and black [midnight blue?] was a success but I'd like to go back to the dark blue and yellow. Ta. The Away kit from last season was a classy classic. Better than any kit for years, let alone Away kit. The black and white kit was a nice change too, the season before that. An honorary mention for the rarely used 3rd bright yellow and blue kit, as worn against Newcastle at St James Park last season, was a cracker too. Notice I haven't mentioned any home kits? I think I maybe going off red. I went off stripes ages ago. Too many clubs in the PL with red and whites stripes. It's not special enough these days. Maybe thinnish stripes like the Euro kit from the Naughties. That might look good.

Away kit should always be yellow and blue imo. I did like last years one though. This years one is rank.

I completely agree. Also that was the first Saints shirt I ever bought - having not bothered up to then. I used to wear it when I played for my 'friendlies' only Un15 team [even though we wore normal red and white stripes.

If they made a decent version of the home and away kit from 1976 I would probably break my miserly ways and purchase them - 'if'.... shirts.jpg

What about the short shorts. Is it the time to once again lose all the spare flapping material? ;)

When I started playing in goal I remember my shorts being more like 'hot-pants'. At the time I hated big baggy shorts - I remember 'West' Germany's goalie, Sepp Maier, wearing weird long sort of school boys shorts - I hated them and thought short-shorts looked much better.

Now I laugh at the old clips, it is all about the current trends at the time I suppose. Mind you I remember never wearing gloves in goal unless it was raining.

If the shorts are too short, the spare flappy bits will be on view:eek:

I find it quite incredible that today the shorts are twice the length that they were from 1959 to 1995. In fact, you have to go all the way back to 1904 [yes 1904] to get shorts with that are as long in the leg. I can tell you from personal experience that shorter shorts [without being ridiculous] are easier to play in. Your favourite team Arsenal play in shorts so big they could be used as tablecloths. Sanchez is forever hitching his up. ;)

I chose Grotbags as a tribute to the green, even though I have never liked it.

Her days are numbered though if we change to another colour.

That Rank Xerox kit was lovely. I have a framed picture of a selection of our kits right from the club's inception to the sash, I'll upload it later.

That would be a great nod to our history from the club, I reckon they would sell them out in days.
