please log in to view this image Wow, just WOW!! What a victory. Hot on the heals of yet ANOTHER victory thread, I welcome you all to ANOTHER super duper, ultra positive thread for the journey to White Hart Lane to the home of Spurs for the the Scintillating, Sensational, Stunning, Stupendous, Super Saints!!! (SSSSSS). As usual, any negativity will be ridiculed and happy clapping is actively encouraged First things first. Nearly off topic, but Leicester City League Champions! Spurs cannot win it this year. Leicester have given us all hope that and realisation that the Premier League is not a closed shop. To quote Del Boy…”This time next year we’ll be……” (I’ll let you all finish that off!) So over to this game against the the side who after Sunday may not even finish 2nd The SSSSSS are back on the road after a convincing 4-2 win against this year’s Champion’s League semi-finalists (to be amended later hopefully) I think that the SSSSSS go into the game as clear, clear, clear, clear favourites – Spurs are deflated, we’re on the up. Last week we beat the only other side in the league Koeman has not yet beaten, so we’ll finish the job on Sunday. The whole team were excellent last week (including Clasie ) and we will be more up for it and too much for Spurs. Poor, poor Mauricio (joke ) I said last week that quite often we as fans worry about other teams and their past. Well, that is all Spurs have On to the game… Another Sunday game, another win. There is, as always with us, no reason to see anything other than a win. We sit 7th in the table, we are STILL on a roll; still knocking on the door of Europe. Spurs I feel this week are going to roll over. We will be too much for them. No Ali, no Rose and Toby only 75% chance of facing his old club. We have a full squad to select from. We last beat them in 2005 at St Mary’s with Quashie getting the only goal. Our last victory there was a convincing 3-1 in 2003. My favourite games against them (that I have been at) has to be in Jan 2003 in the Cup 4-0 and Boxing Day 1980 at WHL when Saints came back from 2-0 to be 2-2 at half time, then fell 4-2 behind, only for St Steve Moran to equalize in the last minute an virtually jump into the away pen (well there were fences, but you know what I mean). 5 game form coming in to this one: SSSSSS: SSSSSS v Liverpool – 3-2 Gave them a chance, but they were blown away by the brilliance of Pelle, Mane and Wanyama. We even missed a pen on purpose so not to embarrass them. Leicester v SSSSSS – Aside from SSSSSS we want them to win the league. And now they have done it! This was our present to Ranieri & co. Great performance, 2 clear/debatable (delete as you see fit – but PLEASE we have argued it to death!) penalty claims. SSSSSS v Newcastle – 3-1. Could/Should have been more. Stroll in the park and no danger of anything else. Great to see Jay Rod back My first thread! Everton v SSSSSS – 1-1. How was that not a victory? They were on the rack all game and offered little. Aston Villa v SSSSSS – 2-4. We toyed with them. Kept getting a two goal lead, then gave the false hope. How cruel are we SSSSSS v City – 4-2. The new 3-1. Outplayed and out fought City. Mane Hatrick, and 1 million Tadic assists Spurs Liverpool v Spurs 1-1. Copycats Tottenham v Man Utd 3-0. Who hasn’t beaten Utd this year? Stoke v Spurs 0-4. Good for us as Stoke can’t catch us Spurs v West Brom 1-1. Pah! We thrashed the baggies at home Chelsea v Spurs 2-2. Pah! 2-0 up and then bottled it. We convincingly won there. Last 5 Games - Saints W3 D1 L1 (10pts) Spurs W2 D3 (opts) Matchday Officials: Ref: Jonathon Moss. Reffed us for 3 games this season, Norwich at home, Arsenal at home and Swansea away. Eight goal for, nil against. please log in to view this image Assist 1: A Holmes please log in to view this image The dodgy linesman that didn’t give us those penalties against Leicester. Also keeps a low ‘google’ profile. Can’t find an image anywhere! Edit - Thank you RJ Assist 2: H Lennard please log in to view this image 4th Official: M Oliver please log in to view this image Prediction: 3-1 Saints. Or seeing as 4-2 is the new 3-1, I’ll go 4-2. Mane 2, Austin & Tadic. Tadic will assist all four. My lineup: Forster Martina Fonte Van Dijk Bertrand Tadic Clasie Wanyama Mane Long J-Rod Austin & Pelle on the bench. What a bench I’ll prepare the Palace thread now COYR!!!!! Be HAPPY!: As it’s the super trouper duper thread: Please all Spurs fans, this is the Saints POSITIVE thread. 95% true, 5% tongue-in-cheek
can't believe you've put such a big picture of Michael Oliver.... Tom needs to be warned to sit down first
BUZZING for this! First away game in over a decade and first as an adult. Can not wait for it, supposed to be 23 degrees + on Sunday too. With their bans/injuries I fancy us here as well...come on SAints!! Decent places to drink? @Archers Road
Big character test for spurs to see if they can puck themselves up after collectively losing their heads and imploding on monday night. But who cares about the opposition's problems? Saints are on a roll. If spurs press up on us there'll be loads of room in behind for Long and Mane to exploit & we could conceivably have a field day with our pace up top. We all know pochettoerag only has one way to play, so lets take advantage. The midfield will need to be psyched up to win every 50/50 ball, that could be key.
I don't think you're taking the proper care required with these threads, if you're allowing work to happen when you should be doing the thread. Sort your priorities out! (Great thread though)
This is why I think we can have some joy there, with both Alli & Dembele out I fancy us to win the midfield battle here.
Can definitely recommend The Elbow Room on Tottenham High Rd, south of the ground just past Bruce Grove station. Away fan friendly last time I went. Also The Ship just over the road from that one.
Cheers, I've seen a few recommend the Elbow Room. I'm getting coach to Victoria then walking from Seven Sisters as well so on the way from what I can see on map Going up there on my own so definitely need to find a pub with a few Saints fans in
Almost, but just when I think I've got it, it escapes me! Also, sorry to lower the tone, but are the dancers in the Edwin Starr video using velcro?
Is that pick, rather than puck, or did you use a 'p' for puck, rather than an 'f'? If it was meant to be an 'f', then I rather think that a combination of Leicester and Chelsea have already pucked up Spurs. There I go, using a 'p', rather than an 'f'
Just hope we don't lose because someone is going to have their work cut to produce a thread of this quality for the final game of the Season!
If Dembele is found guilty of eye gouging (and when I saw it live it looked pretty bad) how long is he going to be banned for that? Way worse than a little love bite on someone's shoulder!
Been suggested that it will be 3+ games ban....with 3 only the starting point. I'd be quite happy if they share it out and give a one match ban to 3-4 Spurs players....seems fair to me.
