So looking at this from the stat point of view, our away record is horrendous (W2 D2 L14), only Villa themselves are worse, but this is slightly negated by the fact we're away to the team with the worst home record in the division (Villa have W2 D4 L12 at home).

Current form puts us on a roll and them on a long run of defeats, but with much improved performances in their last 2 games, suggesting they're finally "playing for pride". Ayew has been one of their only remotely decent players this term, and currently under investigation, suggesting that if we're lucky he may be suspended on Saturday.

They have the leakiest defence in the league at home (conceeded 35 in 18 games) and are also the lowest scorers at home (14).

Their defence looks dreadful, with Lescott looking like he gave up months ago, so attacking them from the off seems to be the way to go - with Sissoko bulldozing through them and Townsend whipping in the crosses...Perez would do well against them I think, they look sluggish and he'd be too nippy for them, so he needs to be on at some point.

Can anyone shed some light into this "Mystery Protest" Villa have planned for the 74th minute?

It appears to relate to there founding year of 1874 and involves a mass buggering off of everyone in the 74th minute as a protest to how badly the club is being run.

Apparently this has been happening since February at Villa home games, but I can't comment on how well it's being complied with.

If that includes the players, what odds on Cisse still failing to score?

Although I suppose it means that he'll be offside wherever he goes on the pitch.

    No different to normal then.

You guys really must beat villa with Townsend scoring a hat trick (for my fantasy football team). Seriously though i will be putting money on your beating villa cause frankly, villa are ****.

Admittedly you are abysmal away but this is VILLA. They have less points than what tufty earnt and he hasn't been here for a while. If you don't beat Villa you deserve to go down.

    Things in your favour:

    Villa are ****
    Villa are terrible at home
Villa are probably worse at home than away as their home fans have turned on them for a while and basically get on their backs
They have mr Black as a manager who looks out of his depth
Rafa have you guys well organised

Also as for Cisse starting, my pet hate as i thought Mitro was going to get a run and it messed up my FF team. I do think that Cisse works better for Rafa who wants you to be a counter attacking team and cisse has that pace that mitro and sdj do not have. You could argue Perez in there over Cisse as Cisse doesn't understand the offside rule and he actually has a touch of a rapist but didn't you guys try Perez up front before and he basically got shoved off the ball because he weights around 5 stone and is spanish (who dive all over the show)?

Unless he's in his own half of course, although he could be in the oppositions half and still receive the ball from a goal kick :)

Don't we all, lets hope they get thumped by Chelsea, who looked very good the other night against Spurs, cannot see the black moggie's getting anything this weekend, and they will have a tough time against Everton also. You should get 3 points against Villa, your last game is a problem, hope you do it though......<ok>

PS: Sunderland have only won one match in the past nine? Hope yet aye.........<laugh>

How bad are you that you can receive a goal kick against a team with no players on the pitch....

    Wait, don't answer that <whistle>

I reckon 3 draws will keep us up (SAFC) Villa will be seething at the minute hoping to beat any team, Spurs might need a draw to stop Arsenal catching them on the final day, we play 3 teams with nowt to play for, so will be very interesting.

I'm taking nothing for granted. But I think we will start nervy and we may go 1-0 down, but I think the game will end 1-2 or 3 to the toon. We should be able to win this.

Probably like the last few games, nervy furst half where we dont really show up, Benitez gets them in for ateam talk and we dominate the second half, just like man city, lpool and palace

yes this is developing into an unfortunate pattern. Why can't we start good from the off?

Man City was even in the first half, vs Liverpool we were wretch in the first 45, and Palace slightly shaded the first half.
