I wouldn't say I'm resigned to us never winning it again but think big changes are required for that to happen and I don't see them happening any time soon.

Ultimately our squad needs a good amount of money spent on it to get it to winning material but I just don't see it with these owners. Leicester are one offs. We need reinvestment to compete with a revitalised big spending City, United, Chelsea, Arsenal and a well assembled top squad in Spurs and now competitive teams in Southampton and West Ham.

Our owners buy young and unproven to sell with profit which may one day result in Klopp leaving for a genuine elite club.

Although I don't personally dislike them I struggle to see us winning the title with them at the helm.

Ultimately, our squad is the weakest its been in my lifetime yet the league is at its most competitive with money everywhere but there are some good players and a good manager.

    So who knows.

In regards whether "our day is done" I would say it definitely is and has been since Rafa left. When we nearly did it with Suarez we were underdogs already well on the wane.

We are currently just 'another team' and nothing special but we have the manager and ambition to get us back up there.

If we were to win the Europey League then that would definitely help our standings within the football world.

One thing that is on our side is a lot of clubs are also in transitional periods. Its a big opportunity for us to claw back the gap next year.

Btw Wishi, if you are going along with the Manure line of the Prem being a completely new competition then it's 24 years without winning it: we can't be expected to have won it for two years when it didn't exist.

Yes, and we've all had to pay through the nose for the privilege. They've done the same to F1.

Flippin' heck, Donga! Talk about splitting hairs! <doh> It will have been 27 years since we won A title then: I'm now working with people who weren't even born then!

Look, I've had my say and my rant. I'll shut me trap now until next season. <ok>

I don't get the negative point of view at the moment, the owners have backed the manager since they've been here it's not like we haven't bought players. We sold Suarez because he was a nutter and love him on the field as I do he was a problem that needed sorting. We sold Sterling and rightly so, he's not very good and will never be worth what we sold him for.

We got Klopp in and that's a huge bonus.

The Swansea thing also bugs me, Klopp is taking the opportunity to look at what he has and see if they are fit for the future, it needs doing. I want us to win every game but there is a big cull coming and Klopp is doing the right thing in seeing if he needs to move players into the squad or out the door.

It's negative Iuv because it's been an up and down season and overall pretty inconsistent and disappointing. I know it's not just us, it's been the big spenders like Chelsea and City as well and uniturd have been pretty **** as well. Arsenal did what they always do.

We've bought players all right, but look at the state of them! Yes, I know they're all Rodgers' players, too and yes I know we've been unlucky with injuries, but before Rodgers we still couldn't get it right.

You've hit the point with Sterling: not worth what we sold him for. We're just as bad because we haven't been left with a choice. This is the pond we're in now and we have to suck it up just like the rest of them.

I was so pissed off after Swansea. The reaction of some people was well we haven't got anything to play for so what was the point and anyway we have to save ourselves for Thursday. The point is first and foremost people paid to watch that ****e; secondly, what happened to playing to win; thirdly, we would have been within a better shot of finishing 6th which is better than nothing - that nothing we still might end up with if we get knocked out on Thursday and won't we look bleeding ridiculous if that happens? We hardly went down with a fight on Sunday. Bloody pathetic peformance from a bunch of so-called class players.

It's like you say, though, let's see what Klopp can do when he brings in his own players.

Yes and that's the point we can't expect miracles from him within 6 months. Ride out this season and then once he's put his stamp on it he's fair game like any manager is. I expect a more consistant season coming up with him in charge once he has his squad in place to compete on all fronts.

No point getting tetchy at the moment just look at how he plays and how he promotes our club and realise that we're on to a winner with this manager, the future looks good. How good? Well that's to be seen and will take time but what the hell it'll be a fun ride with Klopp other than the life sucking boredom of Rodgers.

    My thoughts..
They're not my team, but well played and well done, "Cliche Alert" Table doesn't lie, best team finishes top, they were/are and they have..
I honestly couldn't care less who won out of the likes of City, Arsenal, Spuds, etc.. only team that I don't like winning, due to historic rivalry is United.

It is however a good sign for all other teams that it doesn't take lots of money to win the big one..
It takes the right recruitment, good manager that installs a good team ethic.
We have 2/3 of that, a very good manager that will install a good team ethic, now, if we could recruit the right players, then who knows.
Think next year, with the so called Elite teams getting their houses in order, we could see an epic battle for the title, hopefully were in it for as long as possible!

    Nope.

I started "supporting" them in 94, but being poor and out of town and not really having any affinity to them except i liked the colour blue i stayed with it.

I've been into and out of football (sometimes our tv would not work) so i would sometimes watch it sometimes not so i was never a hardcore fan. Needless to say, i'm pretty fairweather. It's maybe the past 15 years with zola and co i got really into my football but i wouldn't class myself as a proper chelsea fan. I support them and i'm happy when they do well but a season like this doesn't mean its the end of the world and doesn't make me that sad.

    p.s. i was born in 86
