I think if he keep up this level of application and hunger he should be in the 1st XI. He is the one midfielder we have that has technical ability, and if can add being able to run to that we should be on to a winning combination with him alongside a covering midfielder (or alongside Koren in a 4-1-3-2 formation)
I wasn't best pleased when he was dropped last season seeing as there where others that should have been dropped before him. But it seems NP was right to do that so far, we know the lads got talent, we just want him to show it for 35 games a season.
It looks like he's finally got his head screwed on and realised he's going to have to impress to break into the first 11. Hopefully if he keeps this up he'll improve into a very good player for us.
46 games would be better! Nah I know what your saying, lets hope he shows us what we missed last season
He won't be very high in the pecking order at all. We have many midfielders and all of them are better than him. Bar an injury crisis I doubt we'll be seeing much of James Harper this season
Yes. Well lets just say that with Macca out, Hobbs still injured and no new centre back brought in how about this. Galacsi Rosienoir Chester Dudgeon .................McKenna Koren Evans Cairney Brady Fryatt McLean/Adebola/Simpson (managers choice) Using Mckenna as a covering defensive midfielder as i expect Holloway to play his standard 4 - 5 - 1 formation.
I thought blackpools was more of a 4-3-3? Besides we'll probs end up putting dudgeon in the centre and dawson left back
I wonder if he has also seen the attitude of the ex.Man Utd kids and thought he needs to step up his game somewhat ?
If we were away i would agree with you. But as the home team its gotta to be attack attack surely ? Holloway goes for the 4 - 5 - 1 which quickly becomes 4 - 3 - 3 when they attack. But yes the guessing games will be a plenty for sure. I think City have a little bit of time re a new centre back, but we need one By the Ipswich game, IMO.
I only put him there cos he's the tallest full back and Rosenior really is too good to be playing out of position. And I can't see a back 3. Quite possibly! Maybe they've helped to have a positive influence on him along with signing the older players. Looks like Pearsons had a word with him too and he's responded well to that. Good piece of management more than anything though I think. I think the 3-1-4-2 you suggested isn't as defensively strong as Pearson would have it, so I can't see us playing with anything less than a back 4. That's not to say we're being defensive. With Brady, Koren and Cairney we still have quality options going forward from the midfield.
Dudgeon is our shortest full back, he makes Barmby look tall, but it doesn't matter, as I expect Hobbs to start anyway(we definitely won't go with a back three), I'd go with: ------------Gulasci Rosenoir Chester Hobbs Dudgeon Koren Cairney Evans Brady --------Fryatt Simpson
Agree with completely there, although i think NP will give Mckenna the nod over Evans just for experience sake even though he's seemed abit off the pace in pre-season
