The soft does appear to be the best tyre in general, but it needs to be balanced with super soft fir quali purposes - another fundemental issue with the current quali format.
so a big rumour is that Fiat will buy into Sauber and rebrand them Alfa Romeo. as sad as it would be to see sauber go, I think it is time. they have no hope and no goal. Sauber ceased to be when Peter Sauber let go selling to BMW.
Yes, that rumour is growing and fingers crossed Sauber will be saved in some form. I wonder what that will mean for Haas? As they would likely loss most of the "Ex"-Ferrari engineers
Anything that ensures teams stay on the grid is a good thing, even if another historic motorsport name is again lost. On the flip side, it would give Ferrari even more power in the F1 stakeholder game which would mean any chance of a level playing field when it comes to dishing out money goes one step further back, affecting the other independent teams.
Perhaps Haas was a trail run, see how good a Ferrari customer could be. It's worked so it's opened the door to do it "officially" with Alfa? Thats my conspiracy theory
I saw that and a picture of Bernie filling his pockets washed into my mind, although the half price 1st issue Senna MP4 appeals, just as that bastard Bernie planned. Bastard. (LOL just as I wrote that the ad appeared on TV, just to reiterate, what a complete bastard) Sounds about right, what's the betting their will be an 'historic team' payment involved, they were Fangio's first F1 team after all
Maldonado to be announced as official Pirelli test driver! I can only imagine they plan to test what reaction their tyres have when it makes contact with another car
Sauber to miss the in-season test. Marchionne's soul is broken watching Ferrari suffer and Haas boss keeps faith in Gutierrez. Vergne has been testing the 2017 Pirelli tyres on the FI4-T in Maranello.
