*cough* All things PREMIER League on here. ;)

Radio 5 are going to do a round-up of the phone-ins they've had to BBC606 from Leicester fans throughout the season. Listeners will know that 606 can get quite heated and emotional. Should be fun.

Ok, some of you may have heard that Leicester are premier league champions and they started the season rank outsiders. You may not believe me as I couldn't find any links anywhere.

Anyway, serious question, could the reverse happen anytime soon ie a fancied club, the manchesters, Liverpool, arsenal, spurs, Chelsea,Everton getting relegated.

I know that this season long standing premier club villa were relegated but they have been in decline for years. So, any chance of Liverpool being relegated next year?

I do so bloody hope so. I'll be civil enough to leave Spurs, Chelsea, Everton, etc... alone. Man City could also stay. They've known a lot of suffering. As for ManU, Liverpool and especially Arsenal, I'm not sure how I could stop laughing if they were relegated. This question harks back to when I was a proper football fan. One felt this sort of thing keenly back then. Those three clubs badly need a dose of mediocrity. Man City and Chelsea are mere newbies in the glamour club league. They've mainly had lives as alsorans. Arsenal absolutely need to be relegated because they have been properly relegated and cheated their way back into the top flight at the expense of another club, without serving the next season in the lower division. Boo.! Nasty cheating club. Makes me shudder. ;)

I'd rather have Leeds than Arsenal. OK, that's taking the point slightly too far. :)

If we'd have beaten Norwich, Palace, Villa, Stoke, Bournemouth, West Brom, Newcastle this season (as a random selection), and not have conceded Leicester's last minute equaliser at SMS, we'd be a point clear of Leicester with two games remaining!

Good question. I found this graphic interesting. It is based on the fact that wage bill is by far the best predictor of Premier League success. (source: FT)

Chelsea is a good marker on that chart - the fourth worst performance in PL history (lol) puts them in 9th (there are a couple of games left but let's ignore that). To make them the worst team ever would be 6 points less, still 10 above Sunderland. So for them to go down, they would have to be off to the left of that chart by the same/slightly more margin than Leicester are off to the right.

Maybe it's fair to say the chances are about the same. The opposite of the things that have happened to Leicester would have to happen - all the bottom teams having strong seasons, a monumental injury run, annoying Europa/League Cup campaign, new signings being useless etc.

(in the interest of fairness, the dots for this season could move based on the last two games and what the actual wage bills come out as. I would suspect that Leicester and Tottenham could move in a bit - and Chelsea and Villa further out)

Leicester fan appeals to ex-Leicester player Robbie Savage, earlier this season, as City went 5 points clear. Fan obviously in tears, but both blokes voices were breaking. Lovely radio: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03cl1cc

Not sure if its been mentioned, but the most heinous crime for me was when Walker blew his nose out and chucked the handful at Costa when they were in a tussle just behind the Spurs goalline in second half. Siiiiiick (and not in the good sense).

EDIT: just seen you posted the clip!

The fact that Arsenal can go above Spurs puts a slight dampener on how amazing Spurs season is supposed to have been. Would crown the season's immensity for me.

Didn't think it was a single item from his nose. Thought it was a handful of snot, though Beefy says blood! Costa didn't seem to mind too much, strangely enough.

Good to see you agree with Tom - or at least the double negative suggests you do!

That's interesting. But I'd suggest that any bookie who couldn't make killing out of a PL that was won by a rank outsider is doing something seriously wrong; odds reflect the market don't they? Exposure to a few headline bets at long odds shouldn't make that much of a dent into the weight of money on the teams at the head of the market.

Presumably those bookies (can't be all of them imo) who did lose out continued to take money at big prices throughout the season and failed to lay off; they gambled, in other words - something modern bookies don't really do.
