A draw near the end of last season committed us to the play offs, a draw near the end of this season could have the same effect

Nothing to worry about on Saturday Captain, at least not from our end. We will do the business against Dagenham - just got to hope and pray that someone does us a favour, now THAT is what worries me!!

Oxford are in a local derby with Wycombe, who beat them last time around. Stevenage are finishing the season strongly after a disappointing campaign. So I think one or other will slip up. But we've obviously still got to do the business and Daggers are flying at the moment. But at least we've beaten them once already. I feel positive, but it's going to be nerve wracking .

    Taken from gas quzzler site....

If your looking for omens for Saturday....... The last time Rovers won automatic promotion was the 1989/90 season in which...........

    1) The F.A.Cup Final was Manchester United v Crystal Palace.

    2) Blackpool were relegated from the 3rd Division with 46pts (they currently have 46pts with 1 game to go and occupy the last relegation spot)

    3) Charlton suffered relegation

    4) Colchester suffered relegation

    5) Bristol Rovers won 11 matches away and if they win their final home game will match the 15 they won in 1989/90, Also, if they win by 6 goals they will also match their goal difference of +36 from 1989/90!!

Yes I am definitely looking for omens, will grasp at any straw to provide some optimism about us gaining automatic promotion. Try as hard as I might, I can't see anything other than Accrington, Oxford and us getting 3 points on Saturday. For Wycombe or Stevenage to help us out would take a huge blip in form by our rivals and a huge upturn in performance by either of them and while I'm not saying it's impossible, it would be very much a shock result. I'm sure we all think along the same lines on here so let's all enjoy what will be a fantastic atmosphere on Saturday and keep everything crossed!!!

Now that we are approaching the last game of a very good season I have to admit I am beginning to feel pretty much relaxed about Saturday's games, if we do manage to pull it off and snatch one of the automatic places then that would be brilliant and the icing on the cake for the team and management who have clearly put in a tremendous amount of effort over these past nine months or so. However, if it is going to be the play offs then that would be a hell of an achievement as well and would continue the excitement and natter for another two possibly three weeks .
I suppose the only thing that would cheese me off at around five o' clock on Saturday afternoon would be if we stuffed up against Daggers and one of the other two had done the same, that scenario would most likely spoil my evening half in the White Lion. Oh well, hey ho what will be will be eh ?.

As I said in an earlier post when DC said they were aiming for a top seven finish I wondered what he was on, but the players and staff have been brilliant in their response and the fans have got right behind the team so what will be will be but we cant deny we have had a great season and if we have to go through the playoffs then so be it

I though DC was being silly saying top 7. I cant believe not only have we smashed our way into the top 7, we still have a chance of finishing 2nd.

Pressure is all on Oxford and Accrington. They both must believe we will beat Dag & Red so they both know a draw wouldnt be enough for them. They have to go out to win and the longer it takes for them to break down their opposition, the more pressure and nerves will stack up against them.

So how good are they with dealing with pressure? We will soon find out.

Just think, the games will kick off in just under 48 hours time <yikes>

    END OF SEASON PITCH INCURSIONS

Bristol Rovers have been reminded by the FA of the potential for mass pitch incursions by supporters at this time of the season as these pose a threat to the safety of players, officials and spectators.

Supporters are required to remain in the stands and should be reminded of such prior to any potential 'lap of honour' to be made by the team. Announcements will be made of the PA system before the final whistle to alert the fans that players will only come out if the pitch remains clear.

The FA has viewed with concern a number of incidents at this stage last season involving pitch incursions by spectators.

Such incidents have resulted in clubs being charged and subsequently fined up to £200,000 by Regulatory Commissions.

Bristol Rovers have been asked to review our procedures for dealing with mass incursions to ensure that appropriate measures are in place to deal with such incidents.

Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action being taken against the club in even of an incursion.

Everyone at Bristol Rovers would like to ask supporters to remain off the pitch whatever the outcome on Saturday.

GET YOUR ENTRY IN FOR OUR NEW HALF TIME COMPETITION

Bristol Rovers Community Trust are delighted to announce our new half-time competition "Kick It For A Ticket"

Have you ever dreamed of scoring not only one goal, but four goals in front of 10,000 cheering fans at the Memorial Stadium? And winning a season ticket for doing so?

    Well now is your chance...

For the last three home games of the season Bristol Rovers fans will be given the opportunity to win a series of prizes by simply kicking a ball through an open net in front of the North Terrace faithful. If the competitor is successful with their kick they can choose to gamble their prize and attempt another go. However, should they miss at any stage all the accumulated prizes will be lost.

Sounds easy, Perhaps not when each kick increases in difficulty and the whole of the Memorial Stadium is cheering you on. Can you hold you nerve?
    • The first kick is from the penalty spot. This will win you a Bristol Rovers Scarf
    • The second kick is from the edge of the penalty area D. This will win you a Bristol Rovers football
    • The third kick is from 35-yards out. This will win you a Bristol Rovers shirt
    • The fourth and final kick is from the centre circle. This will win you a 2016/17 season ticket
To enter this fantastic competition simply follow and follow us on Twitter (@Official_BRFC) and retweet the competition tweet and we will pick a winner at random by 5pm Thursday night. The competition is open to all over-18's with the winning contestant will then be sent a direct message with instructions on what to do on match day!

    Good luck and get practising

    I find this rather sad.
It has always been a tradition that at the last home match of a successful season the home fans crowd on to the pitch and give the players a resounding cheer.
OK if it means that the officials and players are to be safely off the pitch having done their lap of honour or whatever, so be it.
But get real for God's sake.

Yeah, molly coddling is what I say. Just look back at those scenes from Eastville after Megson's promotion season, it was great being in amongst that lot and there wasn't all of this hullaballoo then when in reality going to football matches during that era was a darn sight more scary than it is today.
