Are we heading for another era akin to the late 80's early 90's

I just wondered if anyone thought we could be heading for another era like in the late 1980's/early 1990's at the club.

    Mass fan dissatisfaction.
An owner who could care, and has the money to do so but doesn't.
    Side underachieving
    Low attendances
All we now need is for the club to asset strip us of our best players and still expect things to happen.

I've only seen one game live this season and that was away from home, wanted to see more but between a young family and an owner who seemingly doesn't care whether I go or not I have found other things to do on a Saturday. As a previous season ticket holder I've not even received a pack in the post asking me if I want to join the god awful membership scheme.

My dad went to city in the 1980's and when Chris Needler decided not to put his hand in his pocket and would rather go through a high court petition and sell our best player on the cheap, it was too much to take. He felt undervalued a as a supporter and thought if the owner won't put his hand in his pocket why should he. I never got that sentiment at all in my years as a pass holder. I felt nothing would make me feel that way about my home town club. Well I do now, mission accomplished for the Allam family

I've done the low league rise, and stalls, even in 2010 all the way to Portsmouth (2-1 up with 5mins left, lost 3-2) but in all that time though the highs and lows I never thought this is it, this is the point I love this club less.

I want to bring my son up as a Hull City supporter, at 2.5 years old he see's football on the TV and shouts Hull City, so I am partly the way there.

I've considered taking him to the local team to us (Bradford City) but I can't bring my self to do it. Its the ultimate betrayal, however I honestly don't see a future for us at the circle, not until the board move on. Thanks go to the Allams for for saving the club with one hand but its a bitter pill when they start strangling the life out of it with the other.

We're in the play offs! Do you remember the feeling of beating Watford here & running on the pitch? We've been spoilt since & some are demanding more! But im a glass half full man who's hoping we turn up against Derby & start the journey all over again :emoticon-0148-yes:

I get what you are saying but it would feel like I'm at a party when the host doesn't really want any of us there, or even want a party. Sorry I can't be any more optimistic. I am usually a very glass half full person too.

I am hoping we dont .

For me the no concessions has had a raging effect.

The last thing i want is premier league football helping his vile plan to work.

The only way there may be a change of mind is if we sell 3 or 4000 less tickets then this season

Stupid view maybe but pricing fans out of the stadium is total insanity.

There's a lot of self-pity and negativity about, like so often in our past when we were ****.
We're two games from Wembley, 2 games from regaining our rightful place among the elite of English football. We've had our best season ever in the League Cup, an honourable defeat against Arsenal in the the FAC.
This is definitely among our 10 best seasons ever.

Just to remind people, a **** season was one where we went out the League Cup in September, the FA Cup in December, half the ground was rotting, the crowd was 4 figures and we were out the promotion race by Boxing Day.
If you remember those days, how can you say this season is ****? We're stuffed with internationals and our season is still alive.
Ah, but you can't keep comparing this season to a **** season in the old days, we have raised expectations and it's right that we demand 'better'.
Yeah? Just like we demanded Christopher Needler kept pumping money in ad infinitum back in the early 80s? Just because it was what we wanted, doesn't mean it's right or reasonable to expect it.
Couldn't really give a **** if the owners like us.....why should I ??? Why does it matter?
It matters much more to me that they have no idea how to run a football club, and seem oblivious to the unravelling of all that's been built up since 2002. But that's been obvious ever since Nigel Pearson was allowed to leave the club and Barmby was sacked.
Shame it's taken so many people so long to realise it. The best way to get rid will be to get promoted so they sell it.
With no guarantee that a new owner would be any better.

    No, we're not, imo.

    We're in the playoffs.

    We have a club still.

Yes, the new membership scheme sucks if you're really old or really young, but I still harbour hope that'll be fixed either by the current owners or the new Chinese ones (allegedly).

Anyone around in the 80s/90s could not seriously even begin to compare the state of the club with back then. It's beyond bonkers to do so.

These ****ing stupid prices are going to bar supporters from going happy.

And are a kick in the teeth for young fans and pensioners.

Worst thing that any owner at any club has done in my opinion.

You think the Allams will **** off if we go up and i dont.

So thats why you hope we go up.

    And i dont.

I guess we will just have to wait and see.

    Pissed off to be honest

I dont ever do pissed off

But these ****ty no concessions are to blame.

Why should we rightfully belong in the top flight? We couldn't even win the league. Burnley, a team YOU said didn't have the credentials for a sustained promotion push (I'm guessing in a city tinted world every other team is much worse than us, eh?) have now won the league, they are more deserving of the Premier League than we are.

winding-up court orders were a monthly event for much of the 1980s and especially the 1990s. as odious as the owners are, they have (a) cash and (b) a vested interest in not letting the value of the club crumble. my main hope is that the club gets to a place where the owners will sell.

He is indeed. I'll just wait for his usual rebuttle of 'blah blah blah armchair fans blah blah Bruce isn't to blame at all blah blah I don't really watch any other football other than City blah blah blah." It doesn't take him long, he probably has it saved as a draft.

That's why it's important everyone gets behind the team to give us the best chance of promotion and a sale of the club....

Alternatively we can sit around playing Fantasy Football team selections and demanding 'nicer' football.

    Yeah I know.
But the membership bollox aside, a lot of fans are sounding like spoilt poncy PL fans who demand entertainment and success, and out of the pram goes poor old Teddy if things aren't tickety boo.
